Your Family is your Priority in Life‼️ Don’t Give Up on Nasty Relatives, Joseph
By Pastor and Mrs Chifamba
Psalm 23:5
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”
GOD CAN MAKE YOU FRUITFUL AMIDST RELATIVES THAT HATE YOU, EVEN FOR THINGS NOT OF YOUR OWN MAKING
Genesis 41:52
“The name of the second he called Ephraim, “For God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.”
Genesis 37:3-4
“Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of many colors. But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peaceably to him.”
Genesis 37:8
“And his brothers said to him, “Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us?” So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words.”
JOSEPH SOUGHT THE WELFARE OF THE BROTHERS WHO HATED HIM! DO GOOD TO NASTY RELATIVES EVEN IF THEY EVEN TREAT YOU WORSE AFTER YOU DO THEM GOOD
Genesis 37:13-14
“And Israel said to Joseph, “Are not your brothers feeding the flock in Shechem? Come, I will send you to them.” So he said to him, “Here I am.” Then he said to him, “Please go and see if it is well with your brothers and well with the flocks, and bring back word to me.” So he sent him out of the Valley of Hebron, and he went to Shechem.”
Romans 12:17-21
“Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
Genesis 37:18-20
“Now when they saw him afar off, even before he came near them, they conspired against him to kill him. Then they said to one another, “Look, this dreamer is coming! Come therefore, let us now kill him and cast him into some pit; and we shall say, ‘Some wild beast has devoured him.’ We shall see what will become of his dreams!””
Genesis 37:23-24
“So it came to pass, when Joseph had come to his brothers, that they stripped Joseph of his tunic, the tunic of many colors that was on him. Then they took him and cast him into a pit. And the pit was empty; there was no water in it.”
Genesis 37:28
“Then Midianite traders passed by; so the brothers pulled Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit, and sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver. And they took Joseph to Egypt.”
THE TRIALS WE ENDURE FROM NASTY RELATIVES ARE ALLOWED BY GOD FOR THE PERFECTION OF OUR CHARACTERS
Psalms 119:71
“It is good for me that I have been afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes.”
Psalms 105:17-22
“He sent a man before them— Joseph—who was sold as a slave. They hurt his feet with fetters, He was laid in irons. Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the Lord tested him. The king sent and released him, The ruler of the people let him go free. He made him Lord of his house, And ruler of all his possessions, To bind his princes at his pleasure, And teach his elders wisdom.”
Genesis 50:20-21
“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today. So do not fear; I will provide for you and your little ones.” Thus he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.”
