This teaching by Bishop Mark Cottrill on Wednesday March 18th 2026 centers on a profound truth we often overlook in our daily struggles: God already knows what He's going to do in our situations before we even recognize there's a problem. Drawing from John 6:5-13, where Jesus feeds the multitudes with five loaves and two fish, we discover something remarkable in verse 6—Jesus asked Philip how they would feed the crowd 'to prove him, for he himself knew what he would do.' This reveals that God sometimes orchestrates circumstances not because He's uncertain, but because He wants to see how we'll respond. Will we trust in our limited resources and human understanding, or will we acknowledge His unlimited power? The disciples focused on what they didn't have—enough money, enough food—while Jesus had already prepared a miracle. How often do we do the same? When financial pressures mount, health challenges arise, or family problems seem insurmountable, we fixate on the impossibility rather than on God's ability. The teaching challenges us with a critical question: What is God trying to teach us through our current trials? Every problem we face is an opportunity for God to demonstrate His faithfulness, but only if we pass our situations through His hands first, acknowledging Him in all our ways. The symbol shared—God is greater than our highs and lows—serves as a daily reminder that our Heavenly Father transcends our best and worst days, waiting to perform miracles when we trust Him completely.
