Excited to be bringing you some fascinating (Q&A) behind the scenes stories and informative educational episodes! Designing Hollywood collaboration with Costume Designer Marilyn Vance. Marilyn's award winning costume designs have appeared in over 62 feature films, television films and mini-series. Vance set the trends of the time with her character designed portrayals in iconic films such as Fast Times at Ridgemont High, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Pretty in Pink and Pretty Woman. Marilyn was also the first female to costume design for the action genre, designing costumes for iconic action blockbusters like 48 hours, Die Hard 1 & 2, The Untouchables, Predator 1 & 2, Time Cop & Road House. Host Robert Meyer Burnett is an American filmmaker, DVD producer and, online film pundit and YouTuber. Burnett directed Free Enterprise and the short film The Sacred Fire. He has also edited over 10 feature films, and worked as a Star Trek consultant for Viacom Interactive and Paramount Parks' Star Trek: The Experience located at the Las Vegas Hilton. Burnett has twice been a guest of honor at the science, science fiction, and fantasy convention, convergence. Host concept artist Phillip Boutte Jr. Phillip is known for his work as assistant costume designer for Mattel and Netflix’s upcoming “Masters of the Universe,” has also worked tirelessly for well over a decade to establish himself as a concept artist whom costume designers and studios are eager to work with. With credits such as “Black Panther,” “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Captain Marvel,” to name just three, Boutte has become one of the few people of color in a field in which directors and star talent can step in and make a difference by championing inclusion. Boutte recently worked on “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,” with costume designer Ellen Mirojnick tapping him for concept art.     Production Designer Fiona Crombie:Fiona Crombie is an Australian production designer based in London. Originally trained as a theatre set and costume designer, Fiona decided to switch her path after 10 years of working in the Australian theatre industry. Commercials, short films and video clips became her film school. In 2010, Fiona production and co-costume designed her first feature, The Snowtown Murders. Crombie’s following projects include Jane Campion’s Top Of the Lake - season one, Justin Kurzel’s Macbeth, Garth Davis’ Mary Magdalene and David Michod’s The King. In 2019 Fiona was nominated for an Oscar and won the BAFTA and ADG awards for best production design for Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Favourite. Fiona’s most recent project is Cruella the prequel to Disney’s 101 Dalmatians directed by Craig GillespieCostume Designer Malgosia TurzanskaMalgosia Turzanska was born and raised in Krakow, Poland. She has a BFA in Costume Design from DAMU in Prague and an MFA in Costume Design from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Her design credits include Season 1 of "Stranger Things," which earned her a CDG nomination for Excellence in Period TV, and "Green Knight" (CDG nomination for Sci-Fi/Fantasy). She also designed the horror films "X" and "Pearl" starring Mia Goth, which inspired many a Halloween costume over the past years. Her most recent work includes two book adaptations: Clint Bentley’s "Train Dreams" and Chloé Zhao’s "Hamnet" starring Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal.

His nomination was shared with Janty Yates.] At the 97th Academy Awards, he was nominated for another Academy Award in the same category for the film Gladiator II. His nomination was again shared with Yates.Glyn Dillon (born 1971) is a British costume designer, as well as a comics and film storyboard and concept artist, best known for his work on the Star Wars films The Force Awakens and Rogue One, designing the batsuit for Matt Reeves' 2022 The Batman as well as his 2012 graphic novel The Nao of Brown.

    Alice Brooks, ASC, is a cinematographer who has photographed award-winning feature films, television shows, and commercials. Her latest feature project is Universal’s WICKED (November 2024) and WICKED: FOR GOOD (November 2025), directed by Jon M. Chu and produced by Marc Platt.

    Currently, Brooks is working on the highly anticipated conclusion to the Spider-Verse saga, SPIDER-MAN: BEYOND THE SPIDER-VERSE, directed by Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson and produced by Sony Pictures Animation and Columbia Studios, scheduled for release in June 2027.

    Brooks previously shot tick, tick…BOOM! for Netflix and Imagine Entertainment, directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda and produced by Ron Howard. Other work includes Miranda’s IN THE HEIGHTS for Warner Bros., which was directed by her frequent collaborator, Jon M. Chu. Both films’ cinematography received widespread critical acclaim.

    Brooks is known for her powerfully designed camera movement, dynamic lighting, and her ability to capture emotionally resonant moments with a keen eye for detail.

    Her journey into filmmaking began at a young age, inspired by her childhood experiences as an actor on commercial film sets in New York City. Her fascination with camera work led her to the USC School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles, where she honed her craft. Drawing inspiration from art, music, dance, and the cinematography of the greats, Brooks has developed a distinctive style that sets her apart in the industry. As a filmmaker, Brooks continues to push the boundaries of visual storytelling, bringing her unique perspective and expertise to every project she undertakes.

    Brooks is a member of the prestigious American Society of Cinematographers and serves on the ASC Board of Governors. She is also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, where she sits on the Academy Branch Executive Committee. Brooks is also on the USC School of Cinematic Arts Dean’s Alumni Leadership Council.

    In 2022, she received the Hollywood Critics Association’s Artisan on the Rise award. In 2025, Brooks received numerous award nominations for WICKED, including Best Cinematography in the Theatrical Feature Film category at the ASC Awards.
