Romans 12:2 says: "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will" (NIV). When Paul wrote this verse he knew we could go through life and have power over our sins because of Christ, but also because we have to discard the lie based thinking that we have all lived by for so long. We have to find that wrong pattern of thinking and replace it with the truth!
