  • The Hand of The Lord - The Hand of the Lord as Guidance and Deliverance (Daily Devotional)
    Aug 18 2025
Hi and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you once again for giving us this wonderful opportunity to minister God’s word and spend a few moments in prayer. Today, we will look at the hand of the Lord as guidance and deliverance. Deuteronomy chapter 4, verse 34, ‘...by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm… God delivers His people with His powerful hand.’ In the eyes of Pharaoh, the Israelites were like sheep fit for slaughter. His former slaves wandered about in confusion, hemmed in by the desert. As Christians, we may sometimes feel in a daze too – financial pressures pushing on one side, health problems pushing on another, relationship problems pushing on from behind. Sometimes, we think to ourselves, which way do we turn? A sense of panic grips us. In despair, sometimes, we may reach out for an overdose of sleeping pills just to end this misery. But there is an alternative, the Lord will fight for you. Have we overlooked the Lord who stands at our side? Have we forgotten that God is ready to fight every battle for us? The promise here is we only need to be still. After the division of the kingdom of Israel and Judah, the descendants of David ruled Judah. Hezekiah was one of them. He was a faithful king; he was faithful to God and delivered the people of Israel from his enemies. He destroyed the idols and altars of false gods. He held fast to God, trusted Him and followed Him throughout his 29-year reign. Hezekiah was tough in adversity too. Threatened by the overwhelming Assyrian army under Sennacherib, Hezekiah trusted in God for astonishing deliverance. Hezekiah prayed honestly and earnestly for God’s help and that night, God’s victory over the arrogant, brutal Assyrians was complete. What a challenge it is for us to keep our focus on God because we know that God will rescue us. Some of us maybe in despair today, sinful patterns pinning us down, temptations easily crumble our resolves, problems stagger us but God has gone on the offensive for our sake. Ultimately, He died on the cross for our sins. God’s own son, engaged the armies of the devil and triumphed over them giving us His victory. Today, we share His victory, for He is still on the move for His people. Stand strong in the knowledge that the battle belongs to the Lord. Let us pray, Father, we thank you for your word and for teaching us today that the battle belongs to you. No matter what the enemy is doing around us, we will trust in you and in your promises and we will fix our eyes and our focus on you. Thank you that you will deliver us, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. • The Hand of The Lord - The Hand of the Lord as Help and Strength (Daily Devotional)
    Aug 17 2025
Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you once again for giving us this opportunity to come your way, spend a few moments in the word and in prayer. This week, we're talking about the hand of the Lord and today, we look at the hand of the Lord as help and strength. Acts chapter 11 and verse 21, ‘The Lord's hand was with them, and a great number of people believed…’ The Jewish leaders hoped that by persecuting the church of Jesus Christ, they would extinguish people's faith in Him. But persecution only caused the Christian faith to spread like wildfire. Believers who were scattered did not leave their faith behind in Jerusalem but wherever they went, they talked about their newly found faith in Jesus Christ and a great number of people believed. Now what was the reason for this widespread growth of the church? Our reading today says that the hand of the Lord was upon them. The same is true for us today. The mission of the church is to spread the good news of Jesus all over the world. But how do we do that? In whose name or whose power are we trying to win the world for Christ? Today, we so often put our emphasis on programs, events, conferences, planning, strategies, which are all important, but we often forget the most important strategy in evangelism and church growth, that is to rest in the power of God's hand. The testimony of Joshua to the children of Israel as they entered to the promised land reminded them of the tremendous strength in the mighty hand of God and they needed to trust Him forever. This was only one of the 20 references in the scripture to God's mighty hand. Moses often recalled to the Israelites how the Lord brought them out with His mighty hand and redeemed them out as bond men from the land of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. So how does He impart this strength to us? He changes our thinking; He increases our faith. We begin to trust Him fully, we trust and rely on God, we live in God's strength. When we position ourselves in the right hand of God, He just does not reveal His power through us through His right hand, but He also reveals His power in unique and personal ways. In our situations, in our fears, in our concerns, in our needs, the right hand of the Lord is always available for us. Let's pray, Father, we thank you for your word, we thank you for exhorting us that without the hand of the Lord, we will be a failure. We pray that you will teach us to trust in your hand, to believe and to know that even as we go about building your kingdom, we will trust and depend on your hand. We thank you for your promise, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen. Thank you for tuning in to Living Supernaturally, for more resources to strengthen your spiritual walk, please visit apcwo.org. • The Hand of The Lord - The Hand of the Lord as Blessing and Provision (Daily Devotional)
    Aug 16 2025
Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to come your way and take a few moments in the word and pray together. This week, we'll be talking about the hand of the Lord. The Bible often refers to this term the hand of the Lord. It is found about 39 times in scriptures, 36 times in the Old Testament and 3 times in the New Testament. The hand of the Lord is a phrase that is often used as a metaphor describing God's active involvement in creation, guidance and judgment. The phrase the hand of the Lord appears numerous times in scriptures, highlighting God's direct intervention in various situations, delivering people from oppression and granting prophetic visions. Today, we'll talk about the hand of the Lord as blessings and provisions. Psalms chapter 104, verse 28, ‘what you give them they gather in; You open your hand, they are filled with good.’ Have you ever been overlooked? Some of the Jews in Nehemiah chapter 7 felt that way too and it was pretty sad because they were living a happy time. God had freed them from Babylonian captivity, the walls of Jerusalem were rebuilt, they were able to go back to their hometowns and resettle in communities. But there was one big problem. Some of the people lost their records. They were suddenly anointed and anonymous. What could they do? Can you imagine how awful it would have felt to lose your valid proof and they were not accepted in certain places to be part of the community. They wanted to do what they loved and they felt called to but couldn't. Priests with no records or credentials would only be allowed to go back if a verified priest consulted the Urim and Thummim for their identity. God had a process set in place to allow those who were displaced, unknown and looked down upon or cast aside. Even though by man's standards these people weren't worthy of consideration, God felt differently. God has covered you with His hand. His hand of blessing is upon you. His hand of favor is on you. His hand of grace is upon you. So, it doesn't matter what people say about you or how they treat you. When God places His hand upon you, He validates you Himself. The Lord Himself open doors, makes ways, lifts you up, promotes you, provides for you, makes room for you and verifies that you are chosen by Him to do great things and nobody can stop that from happening. Let's pray, Father, we thank you for your word, we thank you for your scriptures that teach us about the hand of the Lord. Lord, even in a time and a season that we live in, help us to always rest in your hand, to depend on you in every area of our life. Your word is so clear that you will bless us and you will provide for us more than we can ask, think or imagine, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. • The Normal Christian - A Life of Integrity, Holiness and Purity (Daily Devotional)
    Aug 15 2025
Welcome to Living Supernaturally, the daily devotional of All People’s Church. We have been exploring what it means to be a normal Christian. Today, we are looking at another aspect of what is means to be a normal Christian and to live a normal Christian life. To live a normal Christian life is a life of integrity, holiness, purity and a life of power. 1 John chapter 2, verse 6 says, ‘He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.’ What does it mean? It says that if we say we abide in Him, I have a close walk with the Lord and I dwell with the Lord and His word abides in me, then we ought to walk just as He walked. Whenever the bible says, walk and run and so on, it is talking about how we conduct our life on a daily basis. What kind of life did the Lord Jesus walk? What kind of life did He live? We see that it was a life full of grace, truth and He lived a life of holiness, righteousness, love, compassion and power which means that all of us as believers are called to live that kind of a life. Colossians chapter 3, verse 17 says, ‘And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.’ So, whatever means whatever we do in life, whether in word, in our conversations, in deed/ actions, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus which means for Him, through Him and to Him, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. 1 Peter chapter 1, verse 15 says, ‘but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct.’ It is a life of Christlike character and at the same time, it is also a life of power. Acts chapter 1, verse 8 says, ‘But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.’ We are invited to this kind of a life. A normal Christian life is a life of Christlikeness and a life of power to be witnesses of the Lord Jesus. He is calling us to live a normal Christin life. Shall we pray, Father, we thank you that you’ve called us to this kind of a life and it is a normal life of a Christian. We thank you that you have called us to a life of Christlikeness and you have also called us to live a life of power to be witnesses. We thank you that it is possible because of the presence, power and anointing of the Holy Spirit. Fill us today afresh and anoint us afresh. We thank you and give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’ matchless name we pray, Amen. • The Normal Christian - A Life of Intimacy with God (Daily Devotional)
    Aug 14 2025
Hello and welcome back. We hope you’re having a great day and enjoying spending time in God’s word, meditating on it and walking with the Lord. We are called to a life of joy as we journey on with the Lord Jesus. We have been exploring this topic – a normal Christian and what are the different aspect of a normal Christian life. Today, we see that a normal Christian life is a life of intimacy with God, pursuing God’s presence. A life of intimacy which means closeness with God and pursuing His presence. When we look at James chapter 4, verse 8, it says, ‘Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.’ John chapter 15, verse 5 the Lord Jesus says, ‘I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.’ Verse 7, ‘If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.’ We see a picture of the closeness of the relationship that we are called to have with the Lord. Many times, we think as believers, we have accepted the Lord, we sometimes keep everything that has to do with the Lord, maybe spiritual activity on a particular day and say, Sunday is when I go to church, read the bible, pray etc. But we see that it is a life of living closely with the Lord. The Lord says I am the vine and you are the branches which means that we are always connected 24/7 with Him. It is a deep connection because what flows- the life sap that flows in the vine flows into the branches as well and the branch bears fruit because of that life flowing from the vine into the branches. The Lord is calling/ inviting is to live such a life. He is saying that He is vine and we are asked to abide with Him. Another verse which talks about that closeness/ intimacy is Mark chapter 12, verses 30 and 31, ‘And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”’ The Lord is calling/ inviting us to love Him and we need to love Him with everything within us, with our whole being (heart, strength and mind). We are invited to a life of close fellowship. It is such a privilege for us that the God of heaven and earth would invite us into this kind of a special relationship. Shall we pray? Father, we thank you that you are calling us to a life of intimacy and it is something that is not reserved for a few people but for each one of us, everyone who follows you. We thank you for this and we choose to follow you closely and draw near to you even as you draw near to us, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. • The Normal Christian - A Life of Loving and Serving God’s People (Daily Devotional)
    Aug 13 2025
Welcome to Living Supernaturally. We hope you’re doing well. Today, as we look into God’s word, we see that God has invited us to live a supernatural life. We have been exploring the topic of a normal Christian. What does it mean to be a normal Christian and what are the different aspects of a normal Christian’s life? Today, we see as we look into God’s word, for a Christian, it is normal to live a life - loving and serving God’s people. When we look at John chapter 13, verses 34 and 35, this is the Lord speaking and He says, ‘A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you.’ A very challenging and inspiring statement. The Lord says it’s a commandment, which means it is not an option for you to try and give up half way. The Lord is saying, a new commandment I give you that you love one another. He qualifies it by saying, as I have loved you. So, He gives a standard to the kind of love that we ought to have in order to love one another. It is a difficult standard and He says, as I have loved you. By this, all will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another. The Lord is saying, this is the standard and this is what you ought to do and this is a new commandment that I give you. So, when we look at the love of God, we see that it is an unconditional, ‘in spite of’ love. It is not a ‘because of’ love, it is an ‘in spite of’ love. That is the kind of love and standard we ought to love others with. He is saying, if we live this kind of a normal Christian life, then by this, all will know that you are indeed my disciples. People will know that we are the disciples of the Lord Jesus, if you have this kind of love for one another. Hebrews chapter 13, verse 16 says, ‘But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.’ We see that it is God’s will for us to live like this, to live a sacrificial life where we do good and to share and God is well pleased when we live such a life. So, the goodness of God is indeed revealed through the disciple which melts the hardness of hearts and causes them to really draw near and open their eyes and see and acknowledge that yes these are the disciples of the Lord Jesus. Shall we pray? Father, we thank you that you have poured out your love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. We have your love, to love others with and we know that it is impossible to do this on our own but with you, all things are possible. Today, enable us to live up to this standard, obey this command and so we ask this in your precious name, Amen. • The Normal Christian - A Supernatural Life (Daily Devotional)
    Aug 13 2025
Welcome back to Living Supernaturally. We hope you’re having a great day today and Living Supernaturally is the daily devotional of All People’s church. We see that the Lord wants us to live a supernatural life. In fact, the life of a Christian is indeed a supernatural life in many ways. We have been exploring this whole topic of what it is to be a normal Christian and what is it to live a normal Christian life. We see that a normal Christian life is indeed a supernatural life. In other words, we are saying that for a Christian, it is natural to live a supernatural life. Consider this scripture, Mark chapter 16, verses 17 and 18, the Lord Jesus after giving the great commission to His disciples, He says this, ‘And these signs will follow those who believe.’ So, He is talking about those who believe in Him and follow Him. ‘In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”’ These are the words of the Lord Jesus and He is saying, these signs/ supernatural works will follow those who believe. The only criteria given there is that a person should believe. Likewise, in John chapter 14, verse 12, the Lord Jesus says this, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.’ An amazing verse that challenges us, inspires us but it is something that makes us uncomfortable sometimes. The Lord Jesus is saying something very plainly and He is saying, he who believe in me, these signs will follow. He who believes in me, the works that I do, he also will do and the reason being that He is going to the Father and He goes on to say that when He goes to the Father, He will send another helper and He is talking about the Holy Spirit who will come in and dwell within the believer and empower the believer to live a supernatural life- to live the kind of life He lived. What is the kind of life He lived? He says, He who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also. The life that He lived was full of signs, wonders and miracles. The life that He lived was a life of righteousness, purity and holiness, a life of compassion and so that is the kind of supernatural life we are called to live and it is a given for a normal Christian. Shall we pray? Father, we thank you that you have invited us to this kind of a life- a supernatural life, a life that is naturally supernatural because you have filled us and anointed us with the Holy Spirit. We open our hearts to you to live that kind of life. Enable us, empower us to live the kind of life that you want us to live daily, in Jesus’ matchless name we pray, Amen. • The Normal Christian - A Life Filled and Being Led by The Holy Spirit (Daily Devotional)
    Aug 11 2025
Hello and welcome back to Living Supernaturally. We hope you’ve been having a good day today and living supernaturally. We are looking at the normal Christian and what does it mean to live the life you’re living as a normal Christian. Sometimes, we have questions, is this normal for a Christian? Or to be so intense in the things that are spiritual in nature, is it normal? Well, let’s allow the word of God to describe or define what it is to live a normal Christian life. Today, we see that a normal Christian life is a life that is filled by the Holy Spirit and led by the Holy Spirit. Romans chapter 8, verse 14, ‘For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.’ This means that we as son and daughters of God, have the privilege of being led by the Spirit of God, which means we as normal Christians have the privilege of being led by God’s Spirit. So, it is not something abnormal or out of the ordinary to have this expectation to be led by the Holy Spirit. Galatians chapter 5, verse 16 says, ‘I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.’ This means to live a life led by the Spirit, dictated, guided and prompted by the Holy Spirit. The same chapter, verse 25 says, ‘If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.’ As Christians, we have this awesome privilege of being guided and led in all of life’s situations by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God, He has infinite wisdom, He has infinite power and understanding. So, when He leads us, the scriptures says that we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For a normal Christian, it is a life that is lived as an overcoming life, being led but the Holy Spirit. Ephesians chapter 5, verse 18 says, ‘do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.’ The expression ‘be filled with the Spirit’ means to live a life that is continually filled, an ongoing life of being continuously filled by the Holy Spirit. So, our bodies we know are a dwelling place, we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit indwells us, but also, we can ask God’s Spirit to infill us continuously, to empower us to live an overcoming life. The second part of verse 19 of Ephesians chapter 5, says, ‘speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.’ The life that is filled with the Holy Spirit is overflowing with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, this is for every believer. Shall we pray? Father, we thank you that you have appointed each one of us to live such a life, to be continuously filled by the Holy Spirit and to be led and guided by your Spirit. Today, we open up our lives to this, you lead and guide us and we want to walk in the Spirit daily, we thank you, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
