Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for March 1, 2026 reflects on Psalm 48:4–8 and the powerful image of kings assembling against the city of God—only to flee in panic. Earthly rulers may gather with confidence, but human power cannot stand against the Lord of hosts. What appears intimidating from a worldly perspective collapses in the presence of divine authority.
This Christ-centered Lutheran devotion points us to the ultimate fulfillment in Jesus Christ. The rulers of this world assembled against Him at the cross, believing they had secured victory. Yet through His death and resurrection, their apparent triumph became defeat. God established His kingdom forever through what looked like weakness.
“As we have heard, so have we seen.” God keeps His promises. His Church is not fragile, and His kingdom is not temporary. Even when opposition feels loud or threatening, the Lord dwells with His people and secures their future.
Trust today in the God who establishes His city forever.
