We are 3 friends who decided over breakfast, that we could do a podcast! we call ourselves the depressed breakfast club because we meet for brekkie at least once and month and talk about everything under the sun. We all suffer from some form of Mental illness, whether is be depression, anxiety, bipolar and so forth, So this podcast helps us with keeping our minds active and we hope that we entertain you as we go along. When we first started, we were very structured with weekly topics and for the most part, we did stick to them...but we have noticed that we go off topic and end up having more laughs and fun. So, we decided to change the flow, format and road that our podcast was on and we will be doing non topic weekly chats about life and everything under the sun. We Will have guests every now and then to chat with us about whatever it is that hits us that week. maybe a new book? maybe a movie? maybe the idiot who cut you off on the expressway. who knows! What we can tell you is, you will laugh, you may cry and you will definitely hear a lot of swearing. Join us as we tread the waters of life....hoping someone throws us a life jacket.

    Feb 24 2024

Well, as they say, All good things must come to an end. It's not goodbye though, It's only a TTFN - Tata for now. Listen in as we reflect on the last year of doing the depressed breakfast club podcast. We say so long as only we can. it's not goodbye, goodbyes are forever and well, you can't get rid of us that easy. We have enjoyed every episode, every laugh and every cry we shared with you all. it's not easy to put yourself out of display for others to judge you but we three overcame our fears and a breakfast idea came to light. We thank you all for listening in and for loving us even though we weren't sure anyone out there was. we're going to take a few months to ponder our next course, see where the wind takes us.

from the bottom of our hearts, thank you! we appreciate and love you!

    Dana - sour bacon

    Taylor - crispy bacon

  • DBC-Sense of self
    Feb 4 2024

What was your sense of self growing up compared to now? Were you like Dana, who tried to fit in when younger but dresses for herself now instead of dressing to be accepted, or are you more like Taylor, who never really cared, or Joyelle, who is the opposite of Dana. didn't care back then but feels like she's being judged now. we talk and share stories of clothes and hairstyles and our overall sense of self, whether is be self worth or self esteem. you'll laugh, you may cry but you will definitely relate to what we are saying.

Enjoy this weeks episode and thank you once again for joining us on our journeys through life.

  • Episode 53: DBC-Jan27th-fairness for men
    Jan 27 2024
listen in as we talk about how men get treated and why they hide their mental illnesses. We delve into the world of " tell your wife to give you back your balls" and how that can de-masculate a man.  How men are raised to not show emotion. how single fathers will lose themselves before asking for help because society as a whole tells men they have to be strong and not cry.
