In June of 2021, a little girl went missing from her family’s rural property in Tennessee. The case got the national attention most missing persons advocates would love to have, but then it went too far and impeded the investigation. While we debate the balance between reporting information and hurting a case, Summer Moo n-Utah Wells remains missing to this day.

An entire family disappeared from Independence, Missouri but it wasn’t reported for 5 months. And then the police determined they were actually on the run and closed the case having never made contact with them. It would take a family member doing her own investigation to get the case reopened.
