It took something like 2 years, but Starfield is finally available on a Sony console and Chance is not only playing, but begrudgingly enjoying at least some of it. Alex is thrilled that Chance has been introduce to one of his favorite games and wants to tell him all about it. And Chamberlain laments getting older and less able to be frightened by video games after a mediocre and very safe feeling play through of the Fatal Frame 2 remake.

Chamberlain continues his quest to only play games that no one else has heard of, finishing Metal Eden and Voidwrought, the latter being as blatant of a Hollow Knight ripoff as is allowed by law. Alex puts time into PS1-esque RPG Dread Delusion, a game where believing in anything is punishable with death. And Chance takes the biggest leap of all, spending real Canadian dollars on Marathon, which he liked enough to play instead of playing Overwatch. This is frankly amazing.

Chance both loves and hates Ghost of Yotei legends. He hates he cannot make his samurai look exactly like Zatoichi, but this is not enough to keep him from playing it. Alex found Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on sale, thereby paying exactly the right price for it, and still doesn't like it enough to prevent starting another playthrough of Final Fantasy XII. And Chamberlain finally stops playing Path of Exile II long enough to finish Planet of Lana 2 and attempt to convince people that Metal Eden is good in spite of almost all non gameplay related things being bad.

Chamberlain has devoted himself to Slay the Spire 2. He can spare time for almost nothing else. There is a lesson here about resilience, but he refuses to learn it. Alex is also a disciple of the spire, but he has the min maxing of PS2 emulators to tend to. And Chance dismisses card based roguelike as a fad, instead donning his bloody samurai gear for Ghost of Yotei Legends.

Everybody get's something this week. In fact, Alex gets two things. Chance loves almost everything about Resident Evil Requiem, from the stealth to the action to the end game spoilers (SPOILERS!). Chamberlain didn't like it, but he loves Slay the Spire 2, as it fits in directly with his other, even more expensive, addiction. And Alex is living large, loving both games, and generally being happier than the two old men.

Resident Evil Requiem isn't out yet so we had to find something to do. Chamberlain finished High on Life 2 and recommends 1/3 of its humor but none of its gameplay. He also started Echoes of the End, a game no one else has heard of, that he describes as 'Hellblade without the annoying puzzles and suffocating pretentiousness'. Alex continues his tour of old games on new hardware, discovering that Super Mario Galaxy is much better when it isn't on the Wii. And Chance's desire to sneak around as a goblin beat out his desire to wield a sword in one hand and a wand in the other. The new Styx is AA goodness!

There a ways to play the old game, ways that we endorse but will not fully explain. To that end, Alex is playing the old Ratchet and Clank games on modern hardware and feeling like a kid again. Chance is *gasp* enjoying the PS5 version of Avowed, but not enough keep him from feeling like a kid again in Overwatch, as Tracer is (temporarily) good again. Chamberlain was never a child, does not know what it feels like to be one, and has instead been playing middling games like Crisol and High on Life 2.

Hooray for an unexpected Sony State of Play! We aren't sure how the original God of War trilogy can me remade in the present day, either, but it is fun to think about. Also this week, Chance kills and gets killed by a cat with a jet pack. Alex gets cats killed in Mewgenics. And Chamberlain decides that realistic-ish military shooters give him the ick after playing Battlefield 6.
