In 2014, Catherine Hoggle was the mother of three young children who had been working toward restoring her mental health for years. The family had a system in place so that Catherine was never alone with the children without another adult present. Despite this plan, in the late afternoon of Sunday, September 7, 2014, Catherine left the house with her 2-year-old son, Jacob, to pick up a pizza in Montgomery County, Maryland. When she returned two hours later, she was alone & by the next morning, there was also no sign of 3-year-old Sarah.

This episode was cringy. I am a psychiatric RN so I understand the mental health aspects of this episode. I will say that Allison seemed to try her best to make it clear that mental illness is within our control. Mike was just an a$$hole; even blaming the suspects dad for a decision that he made, saying the suspect should be "put down" in lieu of placement in a mental institution, and suggesting that the suspects mother is making excuses for her because she chooses to believe that her grandchildren are alive.
Smdh. Do better.
