  • Air Beam Tents
    Apr 17 2026

Send us your Mediocre 5 Star Review

This week on Casual Camping Podcast, Ade and Tim are, quite literally, full of hot air.

The lads are chatting all things air beam tents — those magical inflatable marvels that seem to pop up in minutes while everyone else on the campsite is still arguing with a bag of poles and a set of instructions written by a madman.

Ade has taken the plunge with his first ever air beam tent, and safe to say, he absolutely loves it. There may be a slight hint of smugness as he talks about how quickly it goes up, while Tim sits there wondering why he’s still living in the dark ages with conventional poles and muttering, “I need one of these.”

Of course, they’re also busting a few myths along the way. Are they really sturdy? Do they survive British weather? And do they basically turn your pitch into a giant bouncy castle? There’s every chance Tim is already planning to launch himself at one just to test the theory.

If you’ve ever fancied swapping bent poles, frayed tempers, and the annual “which end is the bedroom?” debate for something a little more… inflatable, this is the episode for you.

Expect laughs, a bit of myth-busting, and at least one wildly exaggerated comparison to children’s party equipment.

  • Camping Fuel Crisis
    Mar 27 2026

Send us your Mediocre 5 Star Review

In this week’s episode of Casual Camping Podcast, Ade and Tim tackle a topic every camper has probably grumbled about recently — the rising cost of camping fuel.

From gas canisters that seem to empty your wallet faster than your stove, to the ever-changing price of petrol, and even the not-so-“free” cost of firewood, it’s getting harder to keep things cheap and cheerful in the great outdoors.

The lads share their own experiences, a few frustrations, and plenty of laughs as they explore what’s behind the price hikes and how it’s changing the way we camp. Is it time to rethink how we cook at camp? Go back to basics? Or just accept that even a brew in the wild now comes with a price tag?

As always, there are some handy tips, a bit of honest chat, and the usual laid-back camping banter.

So grab a cuppa (while you still can afford to boil one) and join us around the virtual campfire

  • Camping Therapy
    Mar 20 2026

Send us your Mediocre 5 Star Review

In this week’s episode of Casual Camping Podcast, Ade and Tim share a more personal conversation. After the recent loss of their dad, they reflect on how getting outdoors and spending time camping has helped them process their grief.

They talk about how stepping away from the noise of everyday life—sitting around a campfire, walking in the woods, and simply being outside—created the space to think, talk, and remember.

This episode isn’t about having the answers to grief, but about sharing how the outdoors can help when life feels overwhelming. Sometimes a tent, a stove, and a quiet place are exactly what you need.

  • Outdoor & Social
    Mar 13 2026

Send us your Mediocre 5 Star Review

This week on Casual Camping Podcast, Ade and Tim head out into the field for one of the most unique events in the outdoor industry — Outdoor & Social.

Outdoor & Social is a trade show with a difference. Rather than being aimed at buyers, press, or influencers, the event is designed specifically for retail store staff who sell outdoor equipment every day. It gives them the chance to step away from the shop floor and actually use the gear they recommend to customers, learning about it directly from the brands in the environment it was designed for.

Instead of exhibition halls and conference stands, everything takes place outdoors over several days of camping. Brands bring their latest equipment and set up in the field, allowing attendees to get hands-on with tents, sleep systems, cooking gear and all sorts of outdoor kit. The whole idea is simple: if retail staff can properly experience and understand the equipment, they’re far better placed to help customers choose the right gear when they return to the shop.

Ade and Tim were invited along to see how it all works, and it turned into four memorable days living outdoors, surrounded by great people and plenty of brilliant kit. Moving around the site, they spent time talking with the people behind the brands, learning about new gear, and seeing how everything performs when it’s actually being used rather than just displayed on a stand.

But while there was plenty of kit to talk about, events like this are just as much about the people. The campsite was full of outdoor retailers and brand representatives sharing stories, swapping experiences from the shop floor, and enjoying the chance to spend time outside together. With evenings spent relaxing around camp with a drink or two, the atmosphere was friendly, informal, and full of laughs.

So grab a brew, get comfortable, and join Ade and Tim as they take you along for the ride on their Outdoor & Social adventure.

  • The Cult of Bell Tents
    Feb 27 2026

Send us your Mediocre 5 Star Review

This week on the Casual Camping Podcast, Ade and Tim welcome listeners into The Cult of Bell Tents.

What begins as a discussion about canvas and centre poles slowly reveals itself to be something far more committed. From their disciplined military origins to their modern rise as the sacred structure of glamping, bell tents are examined with the reverence they clearly deserve.

Tim speaks openly about his devotion to both the 3-metre and 4-metre bell tent, explaining why once you’ve experienced standing up, fitting a stove, and walking around like a Victorian explorer, there is no going back. Doubt is normal at first. Acceptance comes later.

Ade asks the important questions, mild indoctrination occurs, and by the end it becomes clear: bell tents aren’t just shelters — they’re a lifestyle, a mindset, and possibly a very friendly cult.

All are welcome. Knowledge will be shared. Canvas will be praised.
