This is the testimony of God, that Jesus lived and died for our sins according to scriptures and that He rose on the third day according to scriptures. If we confess Jesus as Yahweh and believe in our heart God raised Him from the dead then we will be saved and invited into having our own testimony of the Risen Lord in our life! Do you believe?

What is love? Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more... Do you recognize these lyrics. Today in Chapter 4 John will define for us "True Love". The center of God's true story is the expression of His "true love" for us. As we see the greatest expression of true love John will invite us to deeply know this truth for ourselves. When we know true love it has a true affect on our lives. Do you know God's radical true love?

We all struggle with hopeless voices of condemnation. Do you remember who you were and what you have done? Is there any chance you could truly change? Our world is broken, hopeless, and you can't made a difference. These voices plague our minds. But today we read John's encouraging solution to these voices. God has given us the voice of His Spirit to give us confidence in what He has done in us and what He can do in our world. The more we abide in His voice the more victory we will see.

Today John gets to the point of his letter. Smooth talking teachers were trying to infiltrate the church and lead these young believers astray. John calls these teachers antichrists and exposes the lies that they teach. John's encouragement is for these believers to know the truth, call out the lie, and remain in Jesus' words of truth. We live in a day of many influencers. A lot of people are saying a lot of "good" things. Are we able to discern the lies that surround us and know where to stay and where not to stay when it comes to the only thing that really matters?

It may be shocking to think... but there is something that God hates. God hates whatever takes His place in our lives. Whatever idol, addiction, or sin that has crept into our life is something that God absolutely hates. Today we see John address this hate as he guides us to evaluate our hearts and ask a life changing question. Do we hate what God hates and love what God loves? If we do, we will find our lives truly changed by His truth.
