I’m an MD dedicated to promoting wellness and quality of life. I agree that optimal health begins with a healthy lifestyle. For many these measures alone fall short in preventing metabolic syndrome, obesity, and its toll of chronic debilitating disease. Semaglutide is a rationale option for this group, promising to profound reduce their rates of stroke and heart-related death as well as achieve significant, sustained weight loss with negligible risk.
The medical literature suggests the incidence of severe complications is extremely low, well below 1% for pancreatitis, and even lower for bowel obstruction and gastroparesis.
Nausea and diarrhea are more common but transient and not debilitating for most patients. Furthermore these adverse events cease when the medicine is discontinued.
Dr Hymen argues that the cost of Semaglutide is a burden on our healthcare system. The converse is actually true. Semaglutide has the potential to profoundly improve Americans health, reducing healthcare costs exponentially.
And while Semaglutide is in short supply and retail price is over $1,000 / month that price will likely plummet soon as competition ensues and supply meets demand. Even now, reputable compound pharmacies can provide this medicine for under $300. Some insurance companies are covering Semaglutide, and the market will drive most of them to cover it soon. My hat is off to Dr Hymen for trying to improve our health. I believe with time he will become an advocate for Semaglutide.

Im a fan of Dr Hymen, but this episode misses the Mark
