COM-B Model

We explore the applications of the COM-B model (Capability, Opportunity, Motivation, Behaviour) to understand and influence behaviour change across various contexts. One study investigates the adoption of "Brede Welvaarts Denken" (broad prosperity thinking) in Dutch policymaking, identifying barriers and facilitators using the COM-B framework. Another examines wearable activity tracker use in children and adolescents, correlating usage with age, sex, and COM-B factors. A further study analyses Egyptian dentists' reporting of suspected abuse, focusing on the motivational aspect of the COM-B model. Finally, a study designs a behavioral intervention using the COM-B model and Theoretical Domains Framework to promote gas stove use among pregnant women in rural Guatemala, highlighting the challenges in achieving sustained behaviour change.
