Opening statements and the first few prosecution witnesses in the trial of the State of Arizona versus James Layton Givens. Givens stands accused of murdering his nearly 23-month-old daughter Emma, as well as felony child abuse of Emma and her three older children. But for the conduct of the defendant, the prosecution alleges, Emma might still be alive.
