  • Reliving Ohio State’s first-ever bowl game against Texas and the end of an era
    Jul 14 2025
Ohio State opens its 2025 season by facing Texas for what will be the fifth time in program history, hoping to break a tie. OSU and the Longhorns have split the previous four meetings, with each getting a home game (winning as the visitor) and each getting a win in a bowl game. Ryan Day’s 2024 team claimed the most recent back in January in the Cotton Bowl on their way to a national title. As they gear up for the rematch on Aug. 30, what can those four previous games tell us about what to expect? Stephen Means, Stefan Krajisnik and Andrew Gillis will spend the next few weeks exploring these four games. They’ll look at what went right, what went wrong and everything in between using the same Retalkables format we’ve used for the past five years. Only this time, we’ll look through these games with a 2025 lens as a unique way to talk about game No. 5. Up next, the Buckeyes' 24-21 loss to the Longhorns in the 2009 Fiesta Bowl. I've listened to the pod for years, and while it's still my go to buckeye info source, I barely listen to it anymore. before Doug left I listened to almost every episode just to hear what he'd say. I miss Doug, like a lot. he's a unique character who even helped my dad get into the pod. i think he still listens occasionally, but he misses Doug even more than me.
still, the style, focus, topics, access, and more continue to be present and my favorite among the buckeye podcasts I've briefly checked out.
go bucks!

i miss Doug

These three monkeys are nothing opinionated retards. Nathan is from Iowa / Illinois that talks about Purdue like they’re heads and shoulders above the Buckeyes.🤮🤮🤮
