Jorge Alvarez is a recent first-generation college graduate with a degree in public health. During his time in undergrad, Jorge actively advocated for mental health on campus. In April 2021 of his last year, Jorge took to TikTok to share his experiences as a first-gen premed student and all that he’s learned since devoting himself to his own healing and mental wellness journey. Jorge’s content resonated with millions around the world as he had several viral videos related to mental wellness, especially the ones in which he spoke to the Latino community. Jorge continued to create content that made him happy and was aligned with his own self-healing journey which led to him quickly growing a community of over 115,000 in only 4 months. As a result, Jorge’s creative journey also took off as he was contacted by TikTok to be part of Learn On TikTok, the educational content creator community, and Casa TikTok, the Latino/a/x + Hispanic creator community. Jorge also signed TikTok as his first client where he had the opportunity to create a promotional video for them and later worked with Instagram and the world's largest online therapy platform, BetterHelp. Today Jorge continues to create content with the goal of cultivating space for collective reflection, unlearning limiting beliefs, and breaking generational cycles. He aims to inspire all people but especially the Latino community to prioritize their mental wellness and serve as the representation he needed and still needs.
