While we're all familiar with daycare for kids, a recent boom in Sydneysiders who own dogs has seen a rapid rise in 'doggy daycare'.

The idea is simple - you drop your pooch off at the facility in the morning, your pooch has fun with other dogs throughout the day, and then you pick your pooch up on your way home from work.

Sounds fun for your dog, right? The only problem is that the industry is almost entirely unregulated. You don't need any qualifications to open a doggy daycare, and no checks are done on businesses to ensure they are operating to a set standard.
