Mangroves are very useful ecosystem that must be protected for an improved livelihood for those living by the shores.

Besides medicinal values of the shrubs in the mangrove it serves as protection against sea erosion, as well as breeding and nursery for fishes from the sea. Countries that have mangroves must ensure they are not abused altjpugh their trees are price wise very high and insert resistant. They are a rich carbon source for ecological balance and it houses loads of shellfish.

Please listen to subsequent podcast by professor Andy Kusi-Appiah for more on mangroves and I am H. Kwame Afaglo.
