  • Guessing How Movies End: Bonus Round
    Apr 12 2026

Welcome to the first bonus episode that was recorded as a standalone episode! What does that mean for you? It means we're too lazy to make a whole new episode so we recorded this bonus episode to pat ourselves on the back and forget about this podcast for a few more weeks. But at least you guys get to enjoy one more round of Guessing How Moves End: Multiple Choice Edition. After last episode saw Sonny absolutely fail at guessing these, he seeks redemption in the bonus round of the exhibition match that means nothing. Very riveting stakes, I know. Will Tom be able to guess how M. Night Shyamalan's "Trap" (2024) ends? Will Sonny be able to guess how "The Circle" (I don't even know what year this came out and I can't find it online) ends? Only time will tell on this bonus episode.

    See you soon! Hopefully!

  • Guessing How Movies End: Multiple Choice Edition
    Mar 17 2026

A vintage AOFA concept that nobody liked is back! In late 2022, Sonny and Tom played a game in which they read the beginning of movie descriptions and attempted to guess how the movies ended. The concept was nice, but the outcome was awful. Today, wiser in the years that have passed us by like cars on a dusty highway, Sonny and Tom have revamped the concept with a new take. Instead of guessing together, one host who already knows the ending of the movie will present the other host with three multiple choice options for how it ends. And while this isn't an official game episode (it's simply an exhibition match), the concept certainly plays like it's a game episode. Which means you can play along as the boys try to guess how movies such as Spring Breakers, The Power of the Dog, Longlegs, and Megalopolis end.

Earlier, the boys encounter an interesting film in their opening segment. As they try to imagine Arnold Schwarzenegger playing Melvyn Douglas's role in the Paul Newman flick Hud, they realize that this movie is simply the Manchester by the Sea of its time. In the process, they discover a quirk in their rating system and learn that good and bad are both equally punished by the inevitable misery of life. Fun times on this show!

  • Predicting 2026
    Jan 28 2026

Welcome to a new year of An Oscar For Arnold! With prediction markets in the news these days, we thought it might be interesting if Sonny and Tom try to predict what will happen this year. We're talking about everything from Best Picture winner at the 2026 Academy Awards to the next celebrity couple, the next big trends, and whether Sonny and Tom will find love in the calendar year. So listen now and then follow our picks over the course of 2026 to see how much we nailed it. Will Timothée Chalamet win Best Actor? Will James Marsden experience a career renaissance? Will Helen Mirren be exposed as the leader of a celebrity drug ring? Only time will tell.

But time will quickly tell if the boys like today's opening segment, in which they imagine Arnold Schwarzenegger taking over Fredric March's role in "The Best Years of Our Lives." A movie that Sonny wants to see, so he forbids Tom from spoiling it and actually discussing the plot. Which might've been for the best, since it gave your hosts time to dive in to Fredric March's ridiculous character assassination in recent years, in which a club he was a member of with an unfortunate name caused his own name to be removed from a building for no good reason. Sonny and Tom get legitimately upset about this, as a man who was actually an outspoken civil rights advocate for his time is being unfairly labeled as a racist and nobody seems to care enough to do anything about it. Maybe this podcast will do something about it. That would require people actually listening to it, however.

Be sure to tune in next year when we check how our predictions went!

  • Bonus Bantober: Jared Leto & Other Falling Stars
    Nov 10 2025

Bantober may be on life support, but it ain't dead yet! For all of you who enjoyed the absurd amount of banter that we've brought you over the past month, you'll be happy to hear that there's a little bit more left over. Today we bring you the final bits of banter that weren't quite good enough to make the regular Bantober episode or the banter episode from earlier in Bantober. God, it's been a long Bantober.

First the boys discuss former SNL cast members and the advertisements they choose to do, including our favorite former member Beck Bennett. Have times gotten tough for all these actors, or is SNL no longer the career launching pad it once was? And can the BMO ad agency please hire Sonny to write some advertisements that are actually enjoyable? After that, we bring you two parts of a larger discussion about the new Tron movie, which stars Jared Leto and former political talk show host Hasan Minhaj for some reason. First the fellas talk about political pundits like Minhaj and the difficulty of having a career beyond political comedy, and then they discuss Jared Leto and the difficulty of having a career beyond being extremely creepy and weird. Why is Hollywood still casting this guy, especially to lead a blockbuster? Are we unaware of thousands of Leto fans who loyally show up to all of his movies? Who knows. At this point the description of this episode is probably longer than the regular Bantober episode, so I'll wrap things up.

A happy Bantober to you and yours!

  • Bantober: Halloween Movies, MLK Day, & The Mile High Club
    Oct 23 2025

    Happy Bantober!

We promised you more banter this month and we weren't lying. We may have even given you too much banter! But you're going to take this banter and live with it. Because that is the #SpiritOfBantober

There's so much banter, I'm just going to lay out the topics for you:

    Halloween comfort movies (14:13)

When to release scary movies/MLK Day (20:46)

    Alec Baldwin car crash (28:06)

Checking in on Justin Herbert (32:36)

When Ralph Fiennes joined the Mile High Club (35:12)

Bantober Bites - Minecraft/Sonic Merger, James Van Der Beek, and Discover credit cards (45:57)

Then there's the opening segment, where we imagine a world where Arnold Schwarzenegger played David Niven's character in the film Separate Tables, an adaptation of two one-act plays. And yeah, that's as boring as it sounds.

And we ain't done yet! Stay tuned for some Bonus Bantober!

  • Oops! All Banter: Madison Beer, K-Pop, & Jedi Master Yarael Poof
    Oct 15 2025

Welcome to #Bantober! The boys are back with an XL banter episode to get you into the Bantober spirit. Admittedly, the episode is only this long because we originally planned a bonus banter episode that will now no longer be coming out. But stay tuned for a bit more banter this month, whether you like it or not.

Today's topics include Ethan Coen's lesbian wife, Madison Beer and Justin Herbert's new relationship, Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson's new "relationship," the long-necked Jedi Master Poof, and the Korean boy band Seventeen. Can you guess how many members Seventeen has? I promise you're not going to get it right. The boys also take time to roast several celebrities, including Mark Hamill, Simon Pegg, and Ellen DeGeneres.

For the opening segment, Sonny and Tom imagine a world where Arnold Schwarzenegger played Santa Claus in 1947's "Miracle on 34th Street." Can you believe that role won an Oscar to begin with? It was a different time I suppose. Which is bad news for Arnold because people did *not* enjoy Austrians around that time. Still, you can't tell us he wouldn't make a great Santa.

  • Which Celebrity Lived Longer?
    Sep 14 2025

We're back! Let's skip the empty apologies and get right into the game episode that you've all been waiting for. After wrapping up their 7-game series with the last game episode, the boys are back for a fresh start. And today they'll be playing Which Celebrity Lived Longer?, a clever spin on the "Which Celebrity Is Older?" episode that once graced your eardrums. Play along with Sonny and Tom as they ponder who was older at the time of their death. With matchups such as Abraham Lincoln vs James Gandolfini and Paul Newman vs Dean Martin, this will not be easy. Well, maybe it'll be easy to you. But it was hard to us.

Today's opening segment is a lot of fun too, as the boys imagine Arnold Schwarzenegger in Denzel Washington's Oscar-winning role as Alonzo in 2001's "Training Day," a role that is quintessentially Denzel's but provides a lot of juicy character work for Arnold. Could he win an Academy Award playing the role? All we know is, he would have fun with the King Kong monologue.

  • An Emmy For Arnold
    Aug 3 2025

After a hiatus that was inexcusably long, the boys are back to celebrate Episode 40! And since it's a special occasion, they decided to give you a special episode that harkens back to the idea that started it all. Instead of turning their iconic film Olympia into a mini series, the boys try to craft an original series that would get Arnold Schwarzenegger a Primetime Emmy Award from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. And they came to play, because the show they create is a banger, if we do say so ourselves. I won't spoil too much in this description, but let's just say Arnie will be taking a trip to Eastern Europe and flexing his political chops again, this time in a more dictatorial way. Can Arnold hold on to this Seat of Power, or is his reign as a nation's leader destined to fail? Beyond just the premise, the boys plot out the rough skeleton of the plot, cast the supporting actors, and even select some writers and directors to help bring this vision to life. If this doesn't win an Emmy for Arnold, nothing will.

Don't worry, we know you're all waiting to hear what the opening segment will be. Today the boys imagine Arnold in the role of Thomas Mitchell's character Doc Boone in John Ford's 1939 picture "Stagecoach." Can Arnold handle playing a drunken old doctor in the wild west? Yes, we think he certainly can. Although whether or not he can win an Oscar in the early years of World War II might prove to be a challenge.
