  • Episode 13 - Axial Capra Radio Control Crawler Review
    Oct 13 2022

Well thanks again for joining me!  Today I'm talking about the Axial Capra RC Crawler.  I've owned this rig for awhile now and wanted to give you my thoughts.  Spoiler alert...I like it!  It's capable, great looking, has good after market support and best of all it's on sale until October 17th, 2022!  Be sure to check out Axial's website  and use the discount code so you can get a great deal on a new Capra.

We have a newly opened RC shop here in Pueblo, CO called Steel City RC.  It's a great group of folks and they are putting a lot of energy into creating a fun RC culture.  This gives me a good place to go indoor crawling when the weather isn't great.  They also host races on Fridays (mini class), Saturdays (1/10 buggy and Short Course) and Sunday (Mini Z).  They carry most of the major brands and are getting new inventory in basically daily! If you're in the Pueblo area be sure to go visit them at the Pueblo Mall across from Boot Barn.

What are your thoughts on the Capra?  Do you own one?  Have you in the past?  Do you plan to get one soon or in the future?  What are your favorite upgrades?

  • Episode 12 - Beginner Bikepacking Trip Gone "Wrong"
    Jun 20 2022

Bikepacking is an amazing way to experience places you've never been or even to revisit places you've been but you'd like to experience differently.  With a bike you can cover much more ground thank just backpacking but you still get all the benefits of human powered travel.  In this podcast I talk about an experience with my friend Justin on a bikepacking trip we took to Antonito, CO.  We've made it a point to travel to virtually every town in Colorado and I have an affinity for Antonito.  While I haven't been back I will someday and I hope to do some more bikepacking or outdoor adventuring in the area.

Colorado is a great state for bikepacking.  More and more people are out there doing trails like the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, The Colorado Trail (the sections that are bike friendly) and others.  It was great to meet another bikepacker while on our adventure!  I hope you like this episode and thanks so much for checking in.  Be sure to visit my blog to read about other adventures!

If you'd like to learn about outdoor adventure and recreation events around Colorado be sure to check out my calendar of events! If you'd like information about adventuring in Colorado you can complete a free adventure request and I can put together a custom adventure for you.  I will have some road trips posted soon too.  Be sure to visit my facebook page www.facebook.com/adventurewithdaniel as well as youtube.com/adventureswithdaniel.

Some of the gear I used on this trip is:

    Bob Ibex Trailer

Jamis Coda Sport with a Jones Bar

    Hennessy Hammock

    SealSkinz Water Proof Socks

    Tenkara Rod Co. Fishing Rod

  • Episode 11 - Jones Bike - One of the Best Bikes...EVER!
    Jun 15 2022

Welcome to the adventures with daniel podcast. Today we discuss the amazing Jones Bike! If you aren’t familiar with the Jones Bike I strongly encourage you to go check out the website here. I currently have the LWB with 3.0 Maxxis tires on it. A bit aggressive for the type of riding I do mostly but I haven’t gotten around to change them out. I also have the Rohloff hub which I love almost as much as the bike itself.

I truly believe comfort should be one of the top priorities in bike selection. The swept back bars of the Jones Bar makes it extremely comfortable, stable and easy to handle. It gives the rider the ability to move the hands into different positions for comfort on longer rides or for those just getting into riding. The grips are extra thick and squishy to increase comfort also. This bike does very well on all types of surfaces and carries all types of loads. This truly is a machine that will take you where you want to go and very little can stop it!

Have you ridden a Jones Bike? Or maybe you own one? What are your thoughts? Would you consider purchasing a high end low production bike or is your preference to stay with something more affordable and entry level? Please visit my website here to check out my blogs, products for sale (coming in 2022), a local outdoor adventure calendar of events and more!
