Adrenaline: False Idols

By: Realm
  • Summary

  • ADRENALINE is a collection of Realm’s most riveting thrillers, introduced by host Neil Hellegers. Every season, a new audio series will bring you to the edge of your seat — and keep you there. With episodes dropping weekly, you’ll never be without something to keep the adrenaline flowing. Whether you’re uncovering the secret of disappearing ships in the Bermuda Triangle, or in the race of your life against time and your evil doppelgänger, you may want to watch your back, as things are not always as they seem. The suspense and excitement of ADRENALINE will show that fight or flight are not the only options in the face of danger. Sometimes you just need to keep listening… This month, we are featuring a story called False Idols: an FBI linguist returns home to Cairo and goes undercover as an Egyptian heiress. Positioned in the middle of the city’s glittering elite, she uncovers the link between the art world and a terrorist network. Adrenaline: False Idols is a Realm production, written by Lisa Klink, Patrick Lohie, and Diana Renn. Performed by Lauren Ezzo. Listen Away. For more shows like this, visit Realm.fm

  • Introducing Adrenaline: The Triangle
    Mar 30 2021
The mysticism and intrigue of the Bermuda Triangle has just turned personal for Admiral David Segarra: his former ship, the USS Wasp, has gone missing in the area without a trace.  But this is only one of a few strange occurrences in the area: storms, disappearances, and other phenomena have convinced Admiral Segarra that the only way to learn the truth is to investigate it for himself. After getting shipwrecked on a nearby island not visible on any of their maps, his team begins to explore— only to discover they are not alone. As the secrets of the island reveal themselves, finding a way home becomes a matter of life or death.  Adrenaline: The Triangle is a Realm production voiced by Neil Hellegers, created by Dan Kobolt and written by Dan Kobolt, Mindy McGinnis, and Sylvia Spruck Wrigley. Ok

I really enjoyed the story until it started throwing in all the garbage. Definite white racism throughout, blaming and downing whites when available. Also hate for Americans and the US army which is pointless in this story. I’m assuming the author has some racism harboring and unfortunately it really ruins the story. Also the commercials throughout are pointless as well and just a bunch of woke garbage that takes away from the story as well. Oh and the usual categorizing men as horrible even though they are clearly doing what they should be. But the author thinking they are making the women strong but in reality they are being dramatic, rude and not working well with the others to save their lives. Not sure why authors feel this stuff is needed today. Sorry but that’s not reality it’s just personal issues. If it wasn’t for all that pointless stuff then the story would get a 5 because it was interesting.

couldn't finish it

the constant amazement over the female characters actuality being competent at their jobs was... let's just say you don't need them to tell you the Admiral is a boomer. The others are barely better, the writer is creepy and the audio guy is too distracted by his pants to be redeemed. That dude is distracted by "sexy legs" while dragging a body. :head desk:
