ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਜਤਨ ਕਰੈ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਡਹਕਾਵੈ ਓਹੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਜਾਨੈ ॥ ਪਾਪ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਮੂਕਰਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਭੇਖ ਕਰੈ ਨਿਰਬਾਨੈ ॥੧॥ ਜਾਨਤ ਦੂਰਿ ਤੁਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨੇਰਿ ॥ ਉਤ ਤਾਕੈ ਉਤ ਤੇ ਉਤ ਪੇਖੈ ਆਵੈ ਲੋਭੀ ਫੇਰਿ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਤੁਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਨ ਭਰਮਾ ਤਬ ਲਗੁ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੰਤੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥੫॥੩੬॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰ (ਲਾਲਚੀ ਪਖੰਡੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ (ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ। ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ) ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਉੱਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉੱਧਰ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ) ।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਿਰਕਤਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਾਪ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਫਿਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਮੁੱਕਰ ਭੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਸਭ ਕੁਝ) ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਇਹ (ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਤੋਂ) ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-(ਪਹਿਰਾਵਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਗਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣ ਜਾਈਦਾ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਤ ਹੈ ਭਗਤ ਹੈ।੨।੫।੩੬।DHANAASAREE, FIFTH MEHL:People try to deceive others, but the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows everything. They commit sins, and then deny them, while they pretend to be in Nirvaanaa. || 1 || They believe that You are far away, but You, O God, are near at hand. Looking around, this way and that, the greedy people come and go. || Pause || As long as the doubts of the mind are not removed, liberation is not found. Says Nanak, he alone is a Saint, a devotee, and a humble servant of the Lord, to whom the Lord and Master is merciful. || 2 || 5 || 36 ||

ਸੰਤਹੁ ਮਨ ਪਵਨੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਬਨਿਆ ॥ ਕਿਛੁ ਜੋਗੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਗਨਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਗੁਰਿ ਦਿਖਲਾਈ ਮੋਰੀ ॥ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਰਗ ਪੜਤ ਹੈ ਚੋਰੀ ॥ ਮੂੰਦਿ ਲੀਏ ਦਰਵਾਜੇ ॥ ਬਾਜੀਅਲੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਬਾਜੇ ॥੧॥ ਕੁੰਭ ਕਮਲੁ ਜਲਿ ਭਰਿਆ ॥ ਜਲੁ ਮੇਟਿਆ ਊਭਾ ਕਰਿਆ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਨ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥ ਜਉ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਤਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੨॥੧੦॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਮੇਰੇ) ਪਉਣ (ਵਰਗੇ ਚੰਚਲ) ਮਨ ਨੂੰ (ਹੁਣ) ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਹੁਣ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨ ਜੋਗਾ ਥੋੜਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਹ) ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰੀ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ (ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ) ਪਸ਼ੂ ਅਡੋਲ ਹੀ (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਆ ਦਬਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ; (ਸੋ, ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ) ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ (ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ: ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਾ, ਪਰ ਤਨ, ਪਰ ਧਨ ਆਦਿਕ ਵਲੋਂ) ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਹਨ ਤੇ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ) ਵਾਜੇ ਇੱਕ-ਰਸ ਵੱਜਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ਹਨ।੧।(ਮੇਰਾ) ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਕਮਲ ਰੂਪ ਘੜਾ (ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, (ਹੁਣ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ) ਪਾਣੀ ਡੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਨੂੰ) ਉੱਚਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਬੀਰ! ਹੁਣ) ਆਖ-ਮੈਂ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ) ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ (ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ) ਗਿੱਝ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।੨।੧੦।ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਭਾਵ: ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਹੱਲਾ ਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਮਨ ਚੰਚਲਤਾ ਵਲੋਂ ਹਟ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਸੁਖ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧੦।O Saints, my windy mind has now become peaceful and still. It seems that I have learned something of the science of Yoga. || Pause || The Guru has shown me the hole, through which the deer carefully enters. I have now closed off the doors, and the unstruck celestial sound current resounds. || 1 || The pitcher of my heart-lotus is filled with water; I have spilled out the water, and set it upright. Says Kabeer, the Lord’s humble servant, this I know. Now that I know this, my mind is pleased and appeased. || 2 || 10 ||

ਰਾਗੁ ਧਨਾਸਿਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਘਰੁ ੪ ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਹਮ ਭੀਖਕ ਭੇਖਾਰੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਨਿਜ ਪਤਿ ਹੈ ਦਾਤਾ ॥ ਹੋਹੁ ਦੈਆਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਮੰਗਤ ਜਨ ਕੰਉ ਸਦਾ ਰਹਉ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਹੰਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ਸਾਚੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਟਹੁ ॥ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਏਕੋ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਫੇਰ ਪਏ ਕਿਰਪਨ ਕਉ ਅਬ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ॥ ਹੋਹੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਐਸੀ ਬਖਸ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥੨॥ ਭਨਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਰਮ ਪਟ ਖੂਲ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥ ਸਾਚੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਹੈ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੩॥੧॥੯॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈਂ; ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ (ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਅਸੀ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ (ਦਰ ਦੇ) ਮੰਗਤੇ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੰਗਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇਹ (ਤਾ ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ।੧।ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ-ਵੇੜ੍ਹੇ ਨੂੰ (ਹੁਣ ਤਕ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਗੇੜ ਪੈ ਚੁਕੇ ਹਨ, ਹੁਣ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ। ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕਰ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼।੨।ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਭਰਮ ਦੇ ਪਰਦੇ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ) ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਲਗਨ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਤੀਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।੧।੯।

The One Lord is the Cause of causes; there is no other at all. || 1 || Pause || I was wretched; I wandered through so many cycles of reincarnation. Now, Lord, please bless me with Your Grace. Be merciful, and grant me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan; please grant me such a gift. || 2 || Prays Nanak, the shutters of doubt have been opened wide; by Guru’s Grace, I have come to know the Lord. I am filled to overflowing with true love; my mind is pleased and appeased by the True Guru. || 3 || 1 || 9 ||

ਜੈਤਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਘਰੁ ੩ ਦੁਪਦੇ ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਦੇਹੁ ਸੰਦੇਸਰੋ ਕਹੀਅਉ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਕਹੀਅਉ ॥ ਬਿਸਮੁ ਭਈ ਮੈ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੁਨਤੇ ਕਹਹੁ ਸੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਸਹੀਅਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਕੋ ਕਹਤੋ ਸਭ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਕਹਤੋ ਸਭ ਮਹੀਅਉ ॥ ਬਰਨੁ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ਚਿਹਨੁ ਨ ਲਖੀਐ ਸੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਸਾਤਿ ਬੁਝਹੀਅਉ ॥੧॥ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਵਾਸੀ ਲੇਪੁ ਨਹੀ ਅਲਪਹੀਅਉ ॥ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਕਹਤ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਲੋਗਾ ਸੰਤ ਰਸਨ ਕੋ ਬਸਹੀਅਉ ॥੨॥੧॥੨॥ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਸੁਹਾਗਵਤੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਹੋ! ਹੇ ਗੁਰ-ਸਿੱਖੋ!) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਸਨੇਹਾ ਦਿਹੋ, ਦੱਸੋ। ਮੈਂ (ਉਸ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦੀ ਬਾਬਤ) ਕਈ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ (ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ) ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹਾਂ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।ਕੋਈ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੀ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕੋਈ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਲੱਛਣ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ। ਹੇ ਸੁਗਾਗਣੋ! ਤੁਸੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੀ ਗੱਲ ਸਮਝਾਓ।੧।ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਲੋਕੋ! ਸੁਣੋ। ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ (ਫਿਰ ਭੀ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ) ਰਤਾ ਭੀ ਲੇਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੀਭ ਉਤੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ (ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ) ।੨।੧।੨।JAITSREE, FIFTH MEHL, THIRD HOUSE, DU-PADAS:ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. BY THE GRACE OF THE TRUE GURU:Give me a message from my Beloved — tell me, tell me! I am wonder-struck, hearing the many reports of Him; tell them to me, O my happy sister soul-brides. || 1 || Pause || Some say that He is beyond the world — totally beyond it, while others say that He is totally within it. His color cannot be seen, and His pattern cannot be discerned. O happy soul-brides, tell me the truth! || 1 || He is pervading everywhere, and He dwells in each and every heart; He is not stained — He is unstained. Says Nanak, listen, O people: He dwells upon the tongues of the Saints. || 2 || 1 || 2 ||

Awareness of the Shabad and the Teachings is my horn; the people hear the sound of its vibrations. Honor is my begging-bowl, and the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the charity I receive. || 1 || O Baba, Gorakh is the Lord of the Universe; He is always awake and aware. He alone is Gorakh, who sustains the earth; He created it in an instant. || 1 || Pause || Binding together water and air, He infused the breath of life into the body, and made the lamps of the sun and the moon. To die and to live, He gave us the earth, but we have forgotten these blessings. || 2 || There are so many Siddhas, seekers, Yogis, wandering pilgrims, spiritual teachers and good people. If I meet them, I chant the Lord’s Praises, and then, my mind serves Him. || 3 || Paper and salt, protected by ghee, remain untouched by water, as the lotus remains unaffected in water. Those who meet with such devotees, O servant Nanak — what can death do to them? || 4 || 4 ||

ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੁਰੀਆ ਮੋਹਨ ਲਾਲਨਾ ॥ ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਏਕੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੋ ਲੇਖੈ ਸੰਤ ਲਾਗੁ ਮਨਹਿ ਛਾਡੁ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਕੀ ਕੁਰੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਹਰੀਆ ਸਰਗੁਨ ਧਰੀਆ ਅਨਿਕ ਕੋਠਰੀਆ ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿਨ ਕਰੀਆ ॥ ਵਿਚਿ ਮਨ ਕੋਟਵਰੀਆ ॥ ਨਿਜ ਮੰਦਰਿ ਪਿਰੀਆ ॥ ਤਹਾ ਆਨਦ ਕਰੀਆ ॥ ਨਹ ਮਰੀਆ ਨਹ ਜਰੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਕਿਰਤਨਿ ਜੁਰੀਆ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਫਿਰੀਆ ਪਰ ਕਉ ਹਿਰੀਆ ॥ ਬਿਖਨਾ ਘਿਰੀਆ ॥ ਅਬ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਰੀਆ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਖਰੀਆ ॥ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਕਰੀਆ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਰੀਆ ॥ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਫਿਰੀਆ ॥੨॥੧॥੪੪॥

ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੀਆਂ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲਾਲ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹੈ । ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ । ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਉੱਦਮ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ । ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਲੱਗਾ ਰਹੁ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਡਾਂਵਾਂਡੋਲ ਰਹਿਣ-ਵਾਲੀ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਦੀ ਪਗਡੰਡੀ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਤਿ੍ਰਗੁਣੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ, ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ (ਸਰੀਰ-) ਕੋਠੜੀਆਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ (ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀਆਂ) ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ । (ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ-ਕੋਠੜੀ) ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਤਵਾਲ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ । ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ-ਕੋਠੜੀ ਵਿਚ) ਆਪਣੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ । ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਹ ਮੌਤ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਬੁਢਾਪਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਢੁੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੀਵ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਚੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਈ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਾਏ (ਧਨ ਨੂੰ, ਰੂਪ ਨੂੰ) ਤੱਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਿਸ਼ੇ-ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਘਿਰਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਜਦੋਂ ਜੀਵ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਅੱਪੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਆ ਖਲੋਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮ-ਮਰਣ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਟਕਦਾ ।੨।੧।੪੪।

Love of the enticing Beloved Lord is the most glorious love. Meditate, O mind, on the One Lord of the Universe — nothing else is of any account. Attach your mind to the Saints, and abandon the path of duality. || 1 || Pause || The Lord is absolute and unmanifest; He has assumed the most sublime manifestation. He has fashioned countless body chambers of many, varied, different, myriad forms. Within them, the mind is the policeman; my Beloved lives in the temple of my inner self. He plays there in ecstasy. He does not die, and he never grows old. || 1 || He is engrossed in worldly activities, wandering around in various ways. He steals the property of others, and is surrounded by corruption and sin. But now, he joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and stands before the Lord’s Gate. He obtains the Blessed Vision of the Lord’s Darshan. Nanak has met the Guru; he shall not be reincarnated again. || 2 || 1 || 44 ||
