April is Stress Awareness Month and on the show we hear from Thorrun Govind who is a Pharmacist and former chair of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, with a special interest in public health and wellbeing about the significant toll that everyday anxiety is taking on people’s wellbeing and daily lives, with many of us feeling persistently overwhelmed.

With Purple Day having just taken place we find out about the annual awareness day for Epilepsy with Elina Patel who is a film and television student at the London Screen Academy and was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of eight.

Karen talks to Jon from Lighten up, a red therapy centre in Newquay and we hear again from Sarah who shared her story around ADHD and Autism last month and is back to tell us about her experience of Anxiety and Depression.

  • NHS Talking Therapies, Coffee Connections, Creative Writing and Bereavement Support
    Mar 5 2026

On this month's programme, with the NHS raising awareness of a concerning 'blind spot' when it comes to mental health awareness, which the service says is putting many people off seeking the treatment they need and deserve, Victoria chats to Neil to hear about his experience, and we welcome GP Dr Nighat Arif to discuss the issue and the call from the NHS for people to seek mental health support.

Emma speaks to Alex from the Lodge in Falmouth to find out how having a conversation in a coffee shop can create connections and provide a space to talk about our mental health; and she is joined by her friend Lobo to discuss how gaming provides an important community online.

Clare talks to Jane Moss about bereavement support and counselling and the use of writing for wellbeing.

Plus, we're joined by Sarah who will be sharing her lived experience around ADHD and Autism.
