Mick Cooper is an award winning Chartered Psychologist, and Professor of Counselling Psychology at the University of Roehampton. He is also an internationally recognised author, trainer, and consultant, and a Fellow of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
His most recent book, Psychology at the Heart of Social Change: Towards a Progressive Vision for Society, was released earlier this year.
In this episode we discuss the respective benefits of psychotherapy and counselling, and look at when is the right time to seek help? Is it always necessary? And why do so many people today, especially young people, experience mental health problems? We also look at the contribution that counselling and psychotherapy can make to wider social progress.
