  • It is 4 pm on Thursday, November 11, 2010, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, when a phone call comes from police. On the line is Valerie Haythorn, manager of the nearby Dairy Queen, who is concerned that her employee 32 year- 32-year-old Tina Herrmann, has not shown up to work today or the previous day. This was very unlike Tina’s character, who has always been dependable. Valerie tells the police she is so worried she goes to Tina’s house to check on her. She is there as she is phoning the police. She informs police that she went inside the house via a rear window. Tina lives in the home with her two children, 13-year-old Sarah and 11-year-old Kody, and her live-in boyfriend. She informs officers that there is blood everywhere. The officer tells her to stay outside, and they are on their way. Once officers are on the scene, they encounter a blood bath. The problem is that although blood was everywhere, there were no bodies. It was as if the family had disappeared.
