Acerca de esta escucha
It's said by parents who are raising boys trying to justify their behaviors to get them off the hook for doing/saying something mean, wrong, stupid and dangerous. I guess that line is supposed to continue into adulthood?
My adoptive father was this way my entire life. I was trained to suck it up! Don't complain! Be stronger! As a child I listened but as an adult I tried to have an adult conversation with about how his actions and remarks made me feel as a child. I absolutely thought I'd be a good hooked and I told him how I felt at 12 years old (44 years old when we talked). He gaslighted me and said ALL girls felt that way it wasn't his fault.
I knew in my late teens early adulthood that his actions were wrong. I hope mothers will be able teach their daughters how to stand up for themselves at a young age now. I believe women can change things and help people to learn and act better.
That Stupid Line

This is a much listen. This is so powerful. I just experienced this two days ago at work and I'm a government contractor so it's easier to get treated that way and it be acceptable. Thank you for living this out.
