144. The Marchioness Disaster

1989 in London, England, 130 partygoers boarded a small pleasure boat - The Marchioness - for a birthday bash cruise down the Thames river. Less than an hour later, over a third of these people would lose their lives after the boat was struck by a large dredger. For the survivors and the victims families, the pain had only begun.

The difference between an accident and murder

The Bow Bell collided with and sank another vessel. The captain knew he sank a boat and offered no help. The collision could have been an accident. Leaving those people to die was a choice. Yes, I blame the captain of the Bow Bell. Not for the accident, but for his own choices and actions.
