Today's story, "गुणांचे सौंदर्य" (Gunanche Saundarya), features a very wise Scholar (Pandit) who was extremely intelligent but did not look very attractive. (एक विद्वान पंडित जो खूप हुशार होता, पण दिसायला कुरूप होता.)

One day, a handsome King (or Princess) mocks the Scholar for his ugly appearance. The Scholar doesn't get angry. Instead, he uses a simple example of a Golden Pot vs. an Earthen Pot to teach the King a life-changing lesson.

What happened when the King drank water from the beautiful Golden Pot? And why was the water from the ugly Earthen Pot sweeter and cooler?

This Marathi Bodhkatha teaches us that "Beauty lies in Virtues, not in Appearance." (खरे सौंदर्य हे रूपामध्ये नसून गुणांमध्ये असते.) We often judge people by how they look, but this story reminds us to value what is inside them.
