I came here for work. It was a big decision. I’m a mother, and my family is back in the UK. I knew this assignment would stretch me professionally—but I didn’t realize how much it would stretch me emotionally too.

The silence teaches me who I am without others around

The city teaches me to let go of control.
Distance teaches me what home really means.
Work teaches me purpose—but so does stillness.

Maybe you’ve made a hard choice too. Maybe you’re in a city where you don’t fully belong—or a job that’s stretching you thin. I just want to say: you’re not alone. There’s meaning in the in-between. There’s growth in discomfort.
