There’s a school district in eastern Ohio where virtually all the students become good readers by the time they finish third grade. Many of the wealthiest places in the country can’t even say that. And Steubenville is a Rust Belt town where the state considers almost all the students “economically disadvantaged.” How did they do it?

Incredible story and information, thank you for this amazing podcast. I am sure if I say “it feels so good to know, I am not alone in this” , I wish all schools could follow this incredible path and think about how many more lives could be so much better , better for all not just those who live in this school district. I think the world would look different to so many ….. I’m just a grandmother who had no idea why my daughter could not read or write 30 years ago and now I’m helping raise her 3 little precious children that feel hopeless & the school they are in , want to say it’s their low IQs sorry, and they are doing everthing possible - but they do not get it still; it’s causing more damage and we can’t get the profoundly dyslexic dad & girlfriend on board. It’s beyond heartbreaking and you give us so much hope. I ❤️Steubenville!!
