For many believers the journey towards attaining the promises of God starts with enthusiasm, but very few manage to endure the journey to the end. Why does the excitement of receiving God’s Word fade gradually into discouragement when results are not immediately seen?

In this series, Pastor Jeffrey Walter emphasizes the essential role of patience in the journey of spiritual transformation. He uncovers why we give up easily and encourages perseverance in obeying the Word of God. By examining spiritual symptoms, he shows how their discovery should motivate obedience to God and reveals the need to embody genuine faith that makes whole.

In this episode “Why We Give Up Easily,” Pastor Jeffrey Walter teaches that the Christian journey requires patience and perseverance. Drawing from the teachings of Jesus in the Gospels of Mark and Matthew—particularly the Parable of the Sower and the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard—he explains why true spiritual growth unfolds gradually and why many people abandon the journey before attaining the promise. Through these teachings, he warns against approaching faith with a transactional mindset, showing how this attitude often leads to offense and the abandonment of spiritual pursuits when expected results do not appear.

Pastor Walter further highlights the critical moment when resistance feels strongest—what he describes as the “eleventh hour.” Like the travail of childbirth, the greatest resistance often appears just before breakthrough. In these moments, believers are encouraged to persist: to keep showing up, to continue practicing the truth, and to rely on God for the strength needed to endure.

As you listen to this message, may you receive strength to labour with God's word and not to give up no matter how long the journey is.
