Publisher's summary

Ted
Just try and have an unusual ministry like mine these days. What’s so terribly wrong with a hug a day, huh? A non-sexual hug? Why can’t I have a non-denominational ministry based on hugs and assistance with getting back on your feet without the paparazzi tailing me, the media blasting me, and my own parishioners afraid to come out of their houses?

It’s not like my church does anything other than community outreach to the poor, homeless, and those who want a leg up. The ones whose families and communities couldn’t or wouldn’t help. I’m the friend who gets them back on their feet and living again, although it’s a team sort of deal.

I want to shout: No more wallowing! Enjoy life for a change! See the beauty in it! But people find fault in that. It’s just as unpopular today as mine “come in for a hug.” Just who attempts to on sunshine these days? That’s the thing about sunshine. It’s built upon fire and brimstone and none of us really live in either place, unless we’re . . . there. Nobody gives two d*mns for that kind of sentiment these days, and maybe they never really did.

People do surprise you, though. They surprise me all the time because I believe life should be simpler, not crazier. I don’t preach much, but I do believe life is about seeking happiness, caring for others, and helping out the less fortunate. I’m glad I’m not alone in that belief. There are a few of us true dreamers left.

Like Mannheim. He’s smart, he still believes in the potential of the best society, and he’s got his new law degree to use in that fight. At first, I thought him too young, but he’s not. At all. He wants me.

Or he did. He’s disappeared into his internship. He probably found someone younger, someone his age. He’s so full of potential and I won’t stand in his way. All I ask is that he prove me wrong. I have so little faith in that, but I hope I’m wrong.

My life’s always been about the creepers. It started at home and built from there. My parents made one mistake, they put their kids in a house just down the street from Pastor Ted’s church, or Pastor Teddie, as I like to call him in my daydreams. He’s a favorite of my Aunt Pauline. She’s the one who really raised us, and we live with her now, just down the street from . . .

Teddie’s the pastor of unconditional true love, the kind that actually helps people and lets them know there’s at least one person in this world for them. Everyone loves him because that’s what it’s all really about. It’s my aspiration too. The harder they play, the harder they fall, and I’d never use my law degree to serve the entitled rich like my dad. He made me get the degree, but he can’t force me what to do with it.

I have only one complaint about the pastor. He’ll give and give and insist on nothing in return. I want him to ask, just ask me. I’d give him everything, my very soul. Because he’d never accept it.

So when I run into trouble in my stupid life, I always go to him. He never lets me down.

This is an age gap MM romance with mpreg discovery story with ties to the Lakeview Lodge Omegas series. Expect a little steamy sex along with a church campout, family, and community(ies).
