Fifteen-year-old Maddy Carver is a vegetarian food photographer with 10,000 Instagram followers and a mom who should be a professional chef. Mom cooks the food. Maddy takes the photos. They’re a dream duo until Maddy is unfairly expelled from school and winds up at Lakeview International School as a boarding student.

The Lakeview cafeteria rarely offers edible vegetarian options. After days of eating nothing but cereal, plain crunchy pasta, and sweaty-cheese toast, Maddy starts documenting her food photos using #lakeviewlunches.

Once Maddy’s Insta fans realize why her photography has changed, her following blows up and the lack of nutritious vegetarian food at Lakeview becomes a public concern. On top of Maddy’s problems with boys, math, and angry cooks, Lakeview is threatening to expel her for slandering their reputation! Twenty thousand followers! Fifty thousand followers! Maddy's in trouble.
