Fly to the stars in your very own rocket ship. Wave at the mean, green Martians. Picnic with Moon Men. Play tag with the comets. Win a blue ribbon space race. Just before your bedtime. Inspired by the palette of Vincent van Gogh, let's go on a colorful space journey as we explore the colors and planets in our solar system through the power and wonder of a child's whimsical imagination. Audiobook edition features original music and sound effects for an enhanced listening experience for little ears.
©2014 Marie Rose (P)2014 Marie RoseWould you consider the audio edition of Zwoosh! to be better than the print version?
Very different, almost apples and oranges, due to the picturebook nature of the source material. That said, the audiobook of the story worked surprisingly well without pictures because of the warm narration, space age/fun soundtrack, and cute bits of sound F/X mixed in... these all combined to PAINT pictures for the ears.Who was your favorite character and why?
THE MOON MEN! And the Martians, too. They each had distinct sounds that gave them personalities even though they weren't really speaking English at all..
Which character – as performed by Marie Rose – was your favorite?
She narrates like a loving adult would to a very loved child, adding in nuances of humor or wonder that keeps the listener arrested until the end of the story.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This clever, original storybook is imaginative, educational, fantastical, magical and other worldly. I loved every bit of it. I’ve already enjoyed it several times with children and they enjoy discovering all the hidden surprises as the story takes us through our solar system in unexpected ways. I especially love all the personal touches of the child's relationship to her parents and daily life and special places - unlike a lot of canned storybooks that talk down to kids, this one has a fresh plot that is full of heart.Any additional comments?

The narrator and author is the same and I find that Marie has a clear voice, her calm in telling this particular story is obvious and I think awesome since I think the book will well serve parents who have children who is afraid of thunderstorms. I really loved the little story and I am sure your little one will as well.
Also the act of listening to a narrated story in and off itself is always calming and I cannot see how this book could fail to achieve what it was written for...to calm and ignite the imagination.
