Q - What makes the Zombies Are Human series special?

An epidemic ravaging the human population. A world spiraling into chaos. People doing whatever it takes to survive. I've always been drawn to the post-apocalyptic genre and wrote Zombies Are Human with all of the end-of-the-world books I’ve loved in mind. Big epidemics and events that reinvent the world are so thrilling. I also love getting into some of the science, like the genetic engineering, that would make the situations plausible.

Zombies Are Human gives you some of that classic Walking Dead zombie fare, but...without giving too much away...I guarantee you've never read a zombie series like this before.

Smart. Dangerous. Gritty. With rip-your-heart-out intensity (literally and figuratively in some cases).

Hard to follow

These books are hard to follow along
I couldn’t continue after about 8 hours of listening

Wow. Just wow

I did this series as an audiobook. listened on my runs, house cleaning, shopping... It didn't require my full attention and at times it became almost back ground noise. However, that was perfect for what I used it for. I could follow along while staying busy and even it I missed some subtleties, it was very enjoyable. Highly recommend

Zombies are what?

I did like the different view on a zombie infestation and origins, however (here's the but) like so many writers the believable survivor rate is a little unrealistic.

Actual 28 days later zombies or rage virus should never be used if you want survivors. I hate to say this, but this would have been great if a different class of zombie was used or if everyone had perished in the end.

I know we almost have a fight the power kind of build here (like Red Dawn) but it almost feels like a slap in the face that these nobodies would be in the right place in the right time and somehow do what the complete might of a country and it's military could not do.

Plotless dribble

I'm a huge fan of apocalyptic novels. This book is not good.
Considering the author sees fit to add the header note that she is NYT best selling author so many times throughout the narration, you'd expect better.
Firstly, the story is so full of fluff and jumbled back story, the plot is so hard to follow. Perhaps it would he easier to follow if read by anybody else other than the emotionless drone of the author herself. it sounds robotic, emotionless and there is so little inflection where you'd expect it. Will be requesting a refund.
