He did it again

Well, Javan has written another great story. This book is so entertaining and well written. S. W. Salzman performed this book very well also. A definite must read. You will be laughing and very entertained the whole time!!

Continuation of an awesome series

What can I say but this is so fun. Moe is such a character and Smokes and Gene crack me up. This is such a fun series to listen to and I want to continue. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Great 1st book

Great continuation of the story!

I really came to love the books by Javan Bonds. They are well written, and the charakters just rock. And come on, naked, blue zombies, pardon, PVs. What else do you want?
But seriously, The narration by S.W. Salzman just is the topping of the cake here. At first I thought it's going to need some getting used to. But after a couple of sentences I got used to the narration, and it always cracks me up when he's narrating Smokes passages. The Still Alive Books are the first ones I actually solely listen to. I am a real bad listener, getting distracted way too often, and I felt akwards listening. Not the case here. So from an avid reader that couldn't get into audiobooks: the audiobooks are great! Story- and narration-wise.

Hey Mo, is that a burning bridge I smell?

Mo and the gang are finally making some headway. They have their island home, and are systematically burning or explodifying everything that connects them to dry land. The crew is back, although I have to say yhat I wonder about Smokes, because there seems to be more him than we are being let in on. We'll just have to see about him. Anyway, the gang finds themselves in the typical troubles of trying to survive a zompocalypse. They look for other survivors, hunt for supplies, an deal with crazy people and the dead, what could be more fun?

Bonds knows how to pen a story that is both funny and full of emotion, and while it may come off as a silly book set in the desolation of a dying world there are moments that will really impact you. He is that good with his characters. The plot is solid, and it contains a good balance of humor, action, drama, and zombies. This ain't the Walking Dead where zombies only show up once a show, or only appear when the story calls for it. You always know what the gang is facing, and you know that at some point we are going to lose some people.

Salzman revs up his narration engine and keeps the fun alive. I think he instinctively knows how to add some funny into a scene, or how to play it for laughs where other narrators would utterly fail. He provides some great voices, and is crisp and clean in his narration. I never noticed a problem with the audio/sound or his story telling. He hits every zombie in the head until it is a bloody mess. He is really fun to listen to, and I doubt another narrator could pull off such a balancing act as well as he does here.

Bonds keeps the story and the characters going, and makes you think that if there was ever a zombie apocalyse then this would be the gang you'd want to hang out with as you tried to survive. I, for one, will keep coming back to this series quite happily, and I have no doubt that you will too. Give this book a try if you like humor, apocalypses, or zombies. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. Getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

A GREAT LISTEN, FUN STORY AND NARRATION!!!

Mo and the crew are back, and they are getting bigger and better!! Lots of new faces, and they are building a cool society again! I laughed quite a bit and was drawn into the story quite easily...this is a fun listen, and I cant wait for book 3, since we got a bit of a cliffy ending! The narration is really well done and I love all the characters too...they are geeky and awkward, and just a riot!! I recommend you give this series a listen..you will enjoy it!!

Totally Hooked

these books just make you want to come back for more and more. Javan is an amazing writer. the story just comes alive in your mind. as far as post-apocalyptic Tales go I give this one a five out of five.

Great zombie series

Im really love this series so far. The story is smart and funny. The narrator really brings humor to the story with a great performance. This is not your normal zombie series, the zombies being an almost non factor. The villians in this series, in total, aren't very dangerous. This series reminds me of the walking dead comics when the community building stages start. the humor reminds me of the slow burn series by Bobby Adair without the hardcore aspects. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
