Better than the first book I think

Oh phew, I won't reveal who, but someone dies in the book and hopefully the next book will be better because of it.

Actually there's a fair bit of killing going on and new characters, even girls! This story has more going on and is more interesting becuase of it. They get stuck on an island they thought was safe, fight their way out, meet up with some soldiers and find their way home. If the author put a little more effort and focused on details like scavenging or reinforcing, this book could easily be as long as a proper book.

Otherwise same issues as the first book. Billy just makes lousy decisions and the narrators whiny voice when the characters argue gets so tiresome. Not everyone makes their point by whining the last word of every sentence they say. I can understand if one character does that, but they all do.
