Ben Cartwright, former soldier, home to mourn the loss of his father, stumbles upon cryptic letters from the past between author Arthur Conan Doyle and his great-great-grandfather who vanished while exploring the Amazon jungle in 1908. Publisher's Summary
The truth is out there...and it will eat your face.
"Bigfoot is real." That's what primatologist Dr. Sarah Bishop's father told her before his academic disgrace and untimely death.
Now Sarah is eager to restore her father's good name. Survival show host Russ Cloud is just as eager to boost his plummeting ratings. They'll both have a shot at redemption when they find themselves hired by eccentric billionaire Cameron Carson. After a series of his publicity stunts end in spectacular failure, Carson has a plan to redeem his tarnished image: capture a live Sasquatch.
Sarah and Russ join an expedition with an eclectic crew: an Afrikaner safari hunter, a 'roided out former wrestling star, a Shoshone master tracker full of surprises, a heavily tattooed Russian warrior woman, a pair of wise-cracking nerds, and a cute gum-chewing intern with some hidden skills. Will they find Bigfoot?
There's something in the woods...but it's not what they're expecting.

Awesome!
I selected this book because it sounded cool and a little cheesy. I love cheesy sometimes. This was not cheesy at all! It was awesome!
I love how the story is told from the perspective of the Bigfoot as well as the humans. Sullivan also incorporates Native American lore into this story as well which I think is great!
The characters in the story are very likable, especially the Bigfoot. (not zombie Bigfoot) The relationship Sullivan builds between the Bigfoot and Dr Bishop, then later his daughter, is very touching. Dr Bishop made quite an impact on the young Bigfoot and helped with communication between the two species by teaching it sign language.
This is NOT the typical zombie book. SPOILER ALERT! A group of geologists happen to come across a strange green meteorite that seems to be emitting a humming noise. After the meteorite changes them into zombies, they encounter a Bigfoot! The Bigfoot, only trying to protect his pack, rips the zombies to shreds, but is unfortunately bitten in the process. You know what happens next. ZOMBIE BIGFOOT!
I usually don't like books narrated by the author. Very few authors can pull it off. Turns out, Nick Sullivan was a narrator first and an author second. He's an excellent narrator!
I really hope he continues the Creature Quest Series! There is no cliffhanger at the end of this book, but it certainly leaves the possibility of a 2nd book! I'm certainly looking forward to it!

Incredibly entertaining
I am willing to bet that most people, after reading the title of this book, will have a certain pre-conceptualised notion of what this book will be about. I know that I did. That was a campy monster fueled undead romp through the woods. With everybody terrified and fleeing from undead bigfoots or is it bigfeet? (I looked it up, it is Bigfoot for singular and plural.)
Well, it was kind of like that, but so, so much more.
Zombie Bigfoot is told from two main storylines, err, perspectives. The humans and the Bigfoot. With more points of view within each.
Sullivan was able to create his bigfoot characters and make them so remarkable and almost believable. And definitely more likable than the humans.
Here is the long and short of it. Years ago a scientist found Skunk Apes in the wild, was able to make contact with them, gain their trust, and ultimately teach them how to communicate. Years later another expedition is sent to find the bigfeet, to prove their existence and other sinister plans. Then there is the alien meteorite that turns living things into zombie-like creatures. Because they can still think and have thoughts.
For a zombie story, it was incredibly dynamic. Sullivan put a lot of thought into every twist and turn of the story. Full of action, mystic, mythology, action, a little bit of love. Listeners will be completely swept away to the Florida swamps and by the end, they will believe that Sasquatches are real.
There was a nice no cliffhanger ending that started the ball rolling for another book, yet also would be a fine standalone story.
Unless you are new to my audiobook reviews, you know my general initial feeling towards author narrators. However, Nick Sullivan, being a narrator first and an author second, was able to pull it off very well. Because of his intimacy with the story, you could tell that he was emotionally tied to every nuance within.
Incredibly entertaining because of Sullivan's words, both written and spoken.

I can't believe it.
I have no idea what gives here. A book with this title has no business being this good. It is a compelling and though provoking tale, somehow both introspective and fast-paced, which took me on a joyous and unexpected ride into the mind of a sasquatch living in a remote, misty forest. When the 'alive-dead-not-humans' come and disrupt the daily lives of the forest dwellers and nearby researchers, well, all I can say is, bravo: an ORIGINAL idea! I thought there was nothing new under the sun, but I was wrong.
This book is awesome. Seriously, forget the cheesy title and just buy it. And Mr. Author, please, let your agent name your next book. Just please do write a next one!

You think Bigfoot had bad breath before?
This is one of those ultra rare books that combines fun and gore. This is, without question, a classic B-movie put on the page. It isn't easy to come up with a B-movie plot (and I do not mean any disrespect by saying this is a B-movie story) that works, works well, and makes you want to listen rather than going to sleep. This is a monster mashup in the best possible manner, who else had ever come up with a zombiefied bigfoot? No one. Who else could have pulled this off? No one else. Sullivan slams this one out of the national park!
The best thing is, you actually get to empathize with everyone involved; including the bigfoot. The gore is not toned down, either. Just on bloodshed and body count I'd give this a good solid R rating if it were a film. Squee!!! I wish this were a movie!! At least I have the audiobook. I will, without question, listen to this book over and over again.
Sullivan pulls double duty here, providing narration as well as crafting this tale. You can see very clearly that he is multitalanted, and his skills of narration as quite impressive. He is masterful at telling his tale.
Get this book.
Get it, red it, love it.
Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

Not As Bad as The Title Implies...Really!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes and the friend would not have to be a zombie or bigfoot fan. It's not Shakespeare (its not supposed to be) but it will hold your attention, entertain and give you a chuckle or two. Frankly, I laughed out loud a couple of times. There are several nods to other books and action flicks but it is not a cheesy mess. I thought the human characters could have used some more development but overall it was a good book and not quite what I expected. I am so looking forward to the next creature quest tale. Oh, and if you're wondering about the narration, it was great.

Are you saying they’re some sort of Zombie Bigfoot
"Wait… are you saying they’re some sort of Zombie Bigfoot?"
Zombie Bigfoot is one of those stories that will stick with me. The characters, both human, and bigfoot had so much depth that I wouldn't be surprised if there are more stories that revolve around them. The scenery and scene setting was perfect -- to the point where it felt like Sullivan has been writing adventure novels for years.
It was also one of those hard to pin down stories. I believe that the main genre was Adventure. It had Adventure undertones throughout (looking for a Bigfoot). I would put this up with the adventure greats Preston & Child and David Wood (Dane Maddock & Bones). It had all of the enjoyable elements that I love, but it also added in a ton more. Elements of horror and comedy were also throughout Zombie Bigfoot and done extremely well. One minute I was laughing and the next I was cringing in fear or horror.
The narration is really what tops everything off. Nick Sullivan is a veteran audiobook narrated with hundreds of titles to his name. And after a few minutes listening to him you quickly know why. The narration was perfect. You can definitely tell that Sullivan wrote this book with the intent of recording the audiobook. It was developed perfectly for audio, the scenes and jumps between characters weren't every 2 minutes and were well thought out and explained. Each character had the voice that the author wanted.
In all honesty, I had to take a day to gather my thoughts because I didn't want to write a review that felt like it was complete hyperbole. I was able to tame some of my thoughts down, but honestly, this was just such a great story that I hope that people pick it up based on my review.
My only warning to readers/listeners is that this book does get a little gory from time to time. When the said zombie bigfoot attacks it does NOT hold back. If you're extremely sensitive to overly descriptive death scenes, then you have been warned. But as I mentioned before, a lot of the time only a few paragraphs back I was laughing at different things going on, so the gore to no-gore value is still high.
The funny thing is that this book could have gone numerous different ways. Sullivan could have completely removed the "zombie" aspect of it and it still would have been enjoyable. Sure, it would have changed some of the later interactions between characters, but the story was so well written that it still would have been good.
To Nick: please keep writing. You have a gift -- actually two gifts: you can write a darn fine story that I think could compete with the greats in a few genres AND you can narrate the heck out of a story.
I received a free copy of this audiobook, it has not affected my review in any way.

Ridiculously enjoyable!!
"Zombie Bigfoot" serves its reader exactly what you would want from a book called "Zombie Bigfoot" - endlessly entertaining, Irresistibly funny, and unrelentingly chilling, all at the same time. For those interested in the exploration of multi-genre, two thumbs way up for this clever comedic horror story. With a very high quality recording (both technically, and in the crystal clear performance by author/narrator Nick Sullivan), you will enjoy the crap out of "Zombie Bigfoot."

Be warned, contains "Devil Monkeys"
“Zombie Bigfoot” is a fun, action-packed, unique, and clever story that in many ways is like a traffic accident where everyone looks out of interest but is unsure of what they can expect to find. When it comes to Zombie Bigfoot, this is a good thing and I’m sure you will be pleasantly surprised. This well-crafted story is written and expertly narrated by Nick Sullivan himself. I did find it humorous that he included a plug in the book stating that “titles (audiobooks) sell better when the author narrates them.”, which I have to admit is not always the case; yet in this book I could not have thought of a better narrator. It may sound funny when speaking of a book in the genre, but the author takes you on an emotional roller coaster from start to finish. There were times I laughed out loud, times I was in shocked, times I nearly cried, and times I wanted to scream at the characters to understand their situation. I am not a zombie or Bigfoot fan, but I’m a fan of Zombie Bigfoot. The story is so well crafted and told, like when watching a Disney movie, you forget the main characters are not all humans. As funny as it sounds, the Bigfoot creatures had their own names, unique personalities, and desires not simply brainless creatures bent on destruction. Most of these characters were better developed than the main characters are in other books I have listened too. Even if you are not a fan of zombie books, nor a fan of Bigfoot, I think you will enjoy the masterful story telling found in Zombie Bigfoot.
For those a little older, you will understand when I say that the book has a campy feeling and at times something you would recognize from a Creature Double Feature episode. It made me feel like I was listening to a better and darker version of “Harry and the Henderson’s” when you add in the horror overtones. As a complement to the author, the story had a feeling of a B-rated monster flick, yet this book was overall believable and the characters all had depth to them. The writing style was mature and detailed. I did not feel like the author was just telling a tale, nor did I ever feel lost in the minutia. There was a great balance of character and plot development without being overly verbose. I felt lead by the writing and not dragged along by the author.
Speaking of the writing, I found this book well thought out and presented. One feels the internal conflict of those infected. It is like when the audience knows what lies beyond that door or down that dark stairway, you just want to scream out and warn them. There were any places in this book that I had that same desire. I also enjoyed the great research that went into making this book. There were little pieces of information that help educate me along the way without feeling the author had a specific hidden agenda. Even though this is mostly an action horror story, the author wove in a fair amount of humor and even some romance. I thought the ever-present troop of girl or boy scouts out on a camping trip during this monstrous rampage was an added extra along with the various stereotypical characters one may find in a horror movie. For me, including these little bits of horror nostalgia made the book all that more fun to listen too. I will say that I wanted more around the mysterious rock, but I’m assuming we will be given this in future books; please...
The bigfoot creatures made me feel a part of the Jane Goodall’s giant ape research project. These creatures had personality, the ability to communicate, and their own desire to survive and even thrive. Each of the main bigfoot characters had a name fitting them. As a community, they created word to describe objects used by humans such as “boom sticks” for guns. Their ability to use sign or body language also was used to interact with humans. I felt the story between the humans and bigfoot creatures could have taken parallel paths, yet in this book we are given a view when these path cross in a rather distinct way. It is both terrifying and emotional at the same time.
Let me fist say that I often steer away from books that are written and narrated by the same person. Often a person is great at one aspect but not the other. This is not the case with Zombie Bigfoot. I do not think I could imagine a person other than Mr. Sullivan performing his own work. His voice is clear, he knows his material (obviously), and he is passionate about it. I often had to laugh as the zombie bigfoot sounding like a rabid and deranged Cookie Monster. It was a pleasure listening to this professionally produced work and I do not recall any issues with the audio or voicing the many characters.
For parents and younger readers, this book some drug and alcohol use and at times contains quite graphic scenes one can expect from a book in the horror genre. These, in many cases, may be too graphic or violent for younger readers.
In summary, even if you are not a fan of horror, zombies, or Bigfoot, I recommend you spend a credit and pick up Zombie Bigfoot. For me, it touched on all the points that make a book to true story. I look forward to seeing where the author will take this series as there are so many exciting places it could go. Just be warned that you may not want to go out in the wood again after listening.

Wildly entertaining!
While at times the writing and narration were done in a tongue in cheek fashion I was wildly entertained and just had to keep listening. Kudos to Nick Sullivan on this production, I look forward to the next installment in the Creature Quest Series.

A surprisingly deep book about bigfoot zombies
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
It is full of Humor, terror, bigfootses? bigfeet? and ofcourse zombies. What more could a person want?
What about Nick Sullivan’s performance did you like?
There is a reason that Nick Sullivan has narrated hundreds of books. I will let you guess what that is. Actually no I wont. It is because he does a great job! This being his own book made the reading even better.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The real surprise was the reading of the Journal. That part was especially well written.
Any additional comments?
I was given a free copy of this Audiobook in exchange for an honest review. That in no way alters my opinions. My really cool review with graphics and stuff is on my blog. thebloggoblin dot com But I really do highly recommend this one to any that like to laugh and/or zombies. That just made me think wouldent a giggling zombie be terrifying?

Fantastic!
Zombie Bigfoot..... Full of action, excitement, great characters, and a few laughs, this was a great rollercoaster ride, and I loved every minute!
Also, I normally hate books being narrated by the author, because they are generally terrible (looking at you Stephen King!), but Nick Sullivan was a narrator before he wrote this book, so he was top notch at the narration.
Five stars!!!
I hope there is a sequel soon!
