Publisher's summary

Zanaikeyros Saphyrius, better known as Zane, is an original dragyri, a badass male, and a Genesis Son - one of the original embryos made by the dragon lords. Like all the Dragyr he has 10 days from the time he meets his fated - a human female - to take her to the Temple of Seven and present her to the ancient dragon lords to be consecrated...remade...and reborn.

Jordan Anderson is as talented as she is independent. Despite losing her parents when she was only seven years old, she has managed to create a successful career, establish a comfortable life, and lay the groundwork for a safe, predictable future. The last thing she wants - or needs - is to enter a savage world teeming with demons, shadow-walkers, and fearsome dragon lords.

When Zane and Jordan's lives cross paths in a dimly lit parking garage, an immortal flame is ignited...and the 10-day clock starts running.

Zane sees all the signs.

Jordan sees only a predator.

And a dark, perilous journey begins.

Good Start, but...

This is a good start to a new series, but I have to say it is very similar to the Blood Curse series, just with Dragons and Demons instead of Light and Dark Vampires.

I liked it because I really like the Blood Curse series. I do look forward to the next book in this series. "Yet and still", I just hope maybe Tessa Dawn steers away from a repeat of the Blood Curse series.

As for the narration, AMAZING! Eric Dove is the in the top 2 male narrators ever! He does such a fantastic job on the female voices and gives everyone their own distinct voice, he reads with emotion and has very nice reading voice! Love him!

great beginning to a new series!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes! Anybody that is a fan of paranormal / dark fantasy needs this book! I have not read/listened to many dragon books and this one has me hooked!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I tend to like the more badass/ Alpha characters in any story line, so I can't wait to hear about Ghost. But of course Zane and Jordan's story is very moving and exhilarating. I was on the edge of my seat most of the time.

What does Eric G. Dove bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Eric is amazing! His accent and story telling, flawless!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Trying not to give a spoiler out - The scene where Ghost senses a demon presence in their realm and comes to help Zane. Awesome scene!!

Any additional comments?

Tessa, you're amazing! What a way to start off another spine tingling, attention grabbing, can't put it down, want to live in this world, series! This book has everything you would expect from the paranormal world and then some. And Zane and Jordan's story will keep you on the edge of your seat. Can't wait for the next one. I know it will be great!!

Kissing, Tasting, Nipping, Claiming

I want to love you, please you, consume you, and taste your soul.

I was excited to see this first book in the new series was available. I have all of the 'Blood Curse' books, there is one more to be published. I also have Dragon's Realm which is a stand alone book you will want to keep.

Yes there are a few similarities between Son of Dragons and Blood Curse but just a few. The world building, of course, takes place in this book but there will be less and less of it as the other books are published.

Zanaikeyros (Zane) is a Dragye/son of a dragon. He is a powerful, intelligent, bad a*s alpha. Jordan is a defense attorney. She's intelligent, loyal to her friends, stubborn, tenacious, and compassionate.

Zane goes thru a portal to the human world so he can take care of a request from one of the Lord Dragons. This is when his path crosses with Jordan's. Zane now has 7 days, actually less, since he has to marry on the 7th day, to convince Jordan she is his Dragyra/life mate and to go with him to his world. A few bad events happen and Zane helps Jordan, so she reluctantly go's with Zane, but the whole time she thinks he's crazy and she is planning an escape.

Jordan has a best friend who is having surgery and she needs to go thru jury selection for a case. So when Zane, as he promised, takes Jordan back to the human world Jordan puts her escape plan into action. This is their story...

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is fast paced, multi-layered, intense, mystery, action packed, and full of suspense. There is a slow burn romance. If you're looking for detailed sex you won't find it in this book.

Eric G. Dove is AMAZING as always!

Worth a caredit/$$ Not just yes but H*ll Yes. Looking forward to Axe's story next.

OK book. Fabulous narration..

SPOILERS...SPOILERS...SPOILERS...

This book was so disappointing for me. I’ve read all Tessa Dawn’s Blood Curse series and I’ve loved every one of them, except the first one. Anyway, this was nowhere near a romance. By 60% there was not a single thought or touch or feeling from either of them that was the least bit romantic. Zane did all he could to try to make her understand their connection and Jordan did all she could to escape him. She didn’t even try to understand him, or what was going on. He should have just let her die in her sleep at the end of ten days, (which brings back memories of the thirty days the hero and heroine had in the Blood Curse series.)

I never managed to like Jordan and Zane’s relationship. No passion, no lust, no sexual feelings, not a single freaking thing. And then, at 85% they had vanilla sex. The 2 or 3 pages weren’t even worth reading.

She knew what was supposed to happen at her “rebirth” but she was still trying to pull away from Zane as they entered the temple, knowing if she didn’t go through with it they would both die. And the crap she pulled with Dan? I really tried but I just couldn’t stand her.

However, I loved Zane, Axe, Ghost, Levi, Nakai and Jace, but if every female is going to act as bad as Jordan did I won’t be reading the next books.

Lousy sex and the F-bomb was used 1 time.

As to the narration: I absolutely love Eric G. Dove. He does everything perfect! I love when a book calls for a laugh and the narrator actually laughs. Emotions and feelings. That's what a narrator is supposed to bring to a book.

Couldn't finish...

I tired. I really did. To me the heroine is quite annoying. The story line wasn't different from her Blood series. Just differ from vampires to dragons. (Sigh) Ahhh, I wanted to like it because I like TD. Alas, after five hours, I got tired of listening to him constantly calling her "angel", of her, being like a ninny.

Narrator was, as always, really good.

Ok, but not my fave

If #1 was the top of my ranking system, this would be level 3 or 4. Decent enough to have something new or different if you've already read or listened to your faves 8x. Ok for reduced rate, NOT full price or 1cr for audio.

Tessa does it again!

This was a fantastic beginning to Tessa's new series. I'm already a devoted fan of her Blood Curse series and wasn't sure she could top that. Paranormal dragon stories have never been my favorite but with this series I have to amend that. I loved the interaction and bantering between the dragon "brothers" and the wonderful love story that unfolded between Zane and his fated mate Jordan. I was disappointed that it came to a close but I have a feeling I'll get to revisit these characters and newly mated couple in book two which I hope I won't have to wait too long for.

This is definitely a series to follow!

The narrator makes this book come alive!

So far, I have enjoyed this series. Eric Dove, the narrator, is one of my all time favorites. He also did the Blood series, by this author and he does a fabulous job.

The only thing I hope changes, is that the basic storyline line is repeated, just with the new Hero and Heroine. Although, I’m thinking book three will hopefully be different; by the way it has started. So far, I think this is definitely a credit worthy series.
