I should’ve worn underwear that day.

I’d have far less hate mail in my inbox. I’d also still have a job.

But I didn’t wear underwear. And I had a wardrobe malfunction on a livestream.

So now I’m the proud owner of the internet’s most famous… you know.

The good news? I’ve been invited to hide from my sudden infamy at a closed winery with other women who’ve suffered their own five minutes of shame.

The bad news? The winery has a live-in handyman.

A competent, compassionate, patient, sexy, single dad handyman.

Whom I met when I punched him in the face.

Accidentally, of course. But I still get why he’s happy keeping his distance from me.

But when we find out the winery that’s saving my life is in danger of foreclosure, he and I become accidental partners.

No big deal, working with a guy that I’m falling harder for each day.

I’m already the internet’s favorite punching bag. Why not add an unrequited crush to my life?

But what if it’s not unrequited after all?

From USA Today and Amazon #1 Bestselling Author Pippa Grant comes a funny, heartwarming, swoony romance perfect for readers who love protective book boyfriends, found sisterhoods, slow burns, epically awkward meet-cutes, and love conquering all.

Content note: This book contains toxic family and references to bullying, suicide, abuse, and the off-page cancer death of the hero’s first wife several years before the story begins.

Absolutely loved Heath and the woman supporting woman vibe of this story. But how they showed us the mmc vulnerability and heart was beautiful. I am not one for single dad tropes but I loved Lav and the characters were funny kind and strong. Great book fun read.

Great narration in this story.

Cricket and Heath

Cricket's life imploded after she went viral for accidentally flashing the internet while filming one of her lifestyle videos. We all know the internet isn't known for kindness, and Cricket gets invited to the MakePeace Cellars compound to hide and recover from the disaster.

Heath is the single dad handyman (and EMT) who lives on the property with his young (and precocious) daughter. He suffers from "never good enough" syndrome, and he's a pretty serious guy.

Reading through the pages and watching Cricket get her inner strength back was amazing. Surrounded by a small community of women who have fought through their own struggles, these women know how important it is to hold each other up through good times and bad, but especially the bad times.

It was fun to read, sure - but it was also lovely, and inspiring.

This story was pure joy! It was filled with humor and sweet moments and yes spice too. I loved all of the chapter titles being spins of movie titles. The plot is wonderfully silly and I loved every moment of it. It’s a fantastic found family story with all of Pippa Grant hijinks. It was a a fun ride.

The audio was also wonderful. The main narrators Kristina Ruth Zahare and Gregory Salinas did an excellent job. Plus we got the added bonus of hearing Samantha Brentmoor and Stella Hunter as supporting cast. It was so good!

I love books that make me laugh. I personally don’t care for social media being incorporated so heavily into storylines because it’s already such a huge part of our daily lives, and not always in a good way. However, this book was written really well and I like that it touched on a hot topic for a lot of people. It highlighted a downfall of our society.

Hilarious
