Publisher's summary

She's driving me crazy. Or am I the one driving myself crazy? I can't tell anymore.

Ever since Scarlet Rocket showed up in the flesh, she's turned my structured world upside down. My neatly ordered life, my hand-painted Aliens Versus Vampires figurines, my expertly curated comics collection - none of these things provide any shelter from her sexy, sassy onslaught.

It's a disaster of my own making. She didn't exist until I created her. Now, I can't get her out of my mind, and all I want to do is get her into my bed. Never mind that she's a thief, a liar, a con woman. Every step she takes leaves chaos in her wake. And damn if I don't want more of it.

Note: This is a full-length romantic comedy that will have you guffawing or at least snorting hard.

My Two Pennies

3.7 this is a good light read that will have you chuckling at times hearing some questions and answers for “Scarlet Rocket”. There were times that I just felt myself dragging along to the story but over all I’m happy I’ve read it. Willis is a man of mystery to those reading his blog, when an email crosses his path unintentionally everything changes. “Scarlet” has a mission to help Hanna and will do anything she needs to get it done. Towards the end I was pulled in the most and Elias made it for me, that man is hilarious.

Loved this book

I loved this book it was really funny and couldn't put it down. Willis started his blog under the name Scarlet Rocket giving people advise, but he was getting emails from people that were happy to meet her and asking her out. On the next gala he went to see and comfront this Scarlet person and tell her to stop using his/her name. When he saw her he notice what she was doing and he couldn't believe that she was stealing from people. When Willis agent saw Scarlet she gave her a job to keep going to the gala's for more publicity to help Willi's book to sell better when it comes out. When Willi figured out why Scarlet was stealing and offered to help her and her sister she said no, but when Scarlet's sister was taken by the man that wants his money back Scarlet doesn't have any choice but to call Willi for help.

Was NOT Expecting this

I have to first say I've only read this authors dark side until now. This romantic comedy had me giggling like at the geeky Hero who's voice I recognized from a previous audio and I must mention I need more of him in romance!

So author Celia Aaron was able to come out from the dark side to give this light hearted romance it held no true conflic and yet it was the chance and resolve of not letting go of one another that held me captive, I definitely recommend and label this one as a relisten.

SADLY, THIS BOOK WAS A FAIL FOR ME

According to Audible a two star rating means this book was okay.. and it was - however I had such high hopes for this romantic comedy but the plot (or its characters) failed to truly draw me in. Willis, the handsome Clark Kent introvert nerdy hero, writes a female sex blog under a female pen name and Scarlet, the beautiful redheaded imposter heroine, unexpectedly gate-crashes the parties and his life posing as the confident Scarlet Rocket.. (aka Willis) so she can con and steal. Which starts this lighthearted book off well.. but somewhere along the way I totally lost interest and, for me, reaching the end became a chore rather than an all-consuming necessity. The dual POV chapters were supposed to hold comedy.. but, as soon as Scarlet viewed Willis as a ‘mark’ to manipulate it felt sour rather than sweet.. and I know she had her reasons but the loveable hero, who’d charged headlong to slay her demons, deserved better.

Worth a credit? I stuck it out and tried to feel the magic.. but unfortunately (IMO) I have to say no - and that had nothing to do with the narration which was good. It’s drama-lite, has medium heat, low intensity and sorry but I didn’t feel the seismic chemistry that I’ve felt with other books by this author.. however, this won’t put me off one clicking another book by Celia Aaron. Pet peeve of mine time.. the cover - the sexy hero in the book wears black rimmed plastic glasses but the cover model doesn’t - why not? - do they think we’ll be put off by a hero wearing.. shock horror gasp ‘glasses’.. tisk tisk.

couldn't do it

I tried but just couldn't get past the 3rd chapter. I enjoy Celia Aaron's writing but just couldn't get into this story....and I tried. Maybe con artists aren't my thing....because I like Celia's other work -
