Publisher's summary

"Author Laurie Gelman delivers her second in the Class Mom series in a style no less enthusiastic than her first narration." (AudioFile Magazine)

In the eagerly anticipated follow-up to Laurie Gelman’s "irreverent and hilarious" (The New York Post) hit Class Mom, brash, lovable Jen Dixon is back with a new class and her work cut out for her.

If you’ve ever been a room parent or school volunteer, Jen Dixon is your hero. She says what every class mom is really thinking, whether in her notoriously frank emails or standup-worthy interactions with the micromanaging PTA President and the gamut of difficult parents. Luckily, she has the charm and wit to get away with it - most of the time. Jen is sassier than ever but dealing with a whole new set of challenges in the world of parental politics and at home.

She’s been roped into room-parenting yet again for her son Max’s third grade class, but as her husband buries himself in work, her older daughters navigate adulthood, and Jen’s own aging parents start to need some parenting themselves, Jen gets pulled in more directions than any one mom, or superhero, can handle.

Refreshingly down-to-earth and brimming with warmth, Dixon’s next chapter will keep you wondering what’s really going on under the veneer of polite parent interactions and have you laughing along with her the whole way.

LOL moments

I loved Class Mom and was so excited to see a sequel. This book can be read as a stand alone novel. It was so hilarious at some moments that I literally laughed out loud.

I would suggest this book to moms with school age children or had children. I don’t think you will get the humor and appreciate the storyline otherwise. And if you’ve been an active school volunteer and/or room mom, this is a MUST read. You will love it!

The author read the book and did a fantastic job. It made it feel more like a friend telling you about her life...chatting over coffee.

The plot didn’t make me want to listen to the book in a few short days, it was the humor. I couldn’t wait for the next joke. But the story was entertaining.

Enjoy!

Sooooo funny !

I loved the first book, Class Mom, and this one is just as good. Every school should have a Jen Dixon, class mom, to keep everyone else real. This is what I want in a book with humor - believable characters that don't insult my intelligenc and snappy dialogue with a bit of snark, Jen, you're the best !
Laurie Gelman, you rule ! Love your writing and your narrration.

Witty beyond belief!

This story made me laugh out loud, something I don’t usually do while reading/listening a book. Laurie Gelman is so clever. Anyone who enjoys a fun read will not be disappointed. I listened to this in the heels of her first book and I wish there were more to go. Binge-worthy listening!!!!

Funny

Not quite as exciting as the first of the series… That’s very good. And, laugh out loud funny.

Love this series

I picked up the first book in this series because it sounded relatable and fun. I’m so happy I gave this series and author a chance! I absolutely adore Gelman and her narration is phenomenal.

Loveeee

I first was introduced to these books by grabbing Yoga Pant Nation from my local library. I couldn’t put it down and there began my journey on reading this series. I went from the third book to the first book and now finished the second. I am on my way to pick up her fourth. I love the story, I love Jen Dixon and wish she was a good friend in real life. Cheers to the class moms!

Meh

I had expected this book to be light and funny. I think the topic of school parent volunteering had great potential for funny stories. This was not funny, nor interesting. There was no character development whatsoever. The story line was confusing mostly because there was none. It was just plain boring. Narration didn’t help at all. In the beginning when I heard that it was the author narrating, I was excited because you’d get to hear the book as it was meant to be. That did not happen. It felt rushed and without articulation, sometimes the sentences felt like they were blended together and all of the characters sounded the same, you could not distinguish or remember who it was.

Fun story

Laurie Gelman is witty. I enjoyed snickering as I listened. I’m eager for book 3.

Jen is a hoot!

Excellent follow up to Class Mom! The zingers & one-liners in this book had me giggling out loud. I love her quick wittiness, banter and ‘old school’ references throughout the book. This is just the lighthearted book I needed after several heavy reads.

I love that she narrates her own books with the vibrancy she does. I can’t wait for more from Laurie! Definitely a new favorite author for me!
