Sweeping generalizations with no support

If you have no knowledge of history, and would love to have a deeply wrong and skewed knowledge, this podcast is for you. Mildly entertaining hosts with deeply flawed historical knowledge and a knack for summing up a paragraph of information with a banal turn of phrase that emphasizes the least important part of what has been said in order to try to get a laugh characterize the flow of the show. This podcast is purely for entertainment. Don't expect to learn anything. The experts they bring in give enough detail to sound knowledgeable, but no real depth, resulting the appearance of knowledge while entirely misleading you on the subject at hand. And the assumptions run rampant. In the end, there are almost no facts, and absolutely no real context, despite some historical details thrown in to trick the lay listener into believing the assumptions. They try to fit historical figures and situations into today's paradigm, absolutely ignoring context and historical circumstance, to the point of assuming that the world thinks, and always has thought, the way the hosts do. The oversimplification of issues and ethics is also astounding. I recommend reading a real history book and taking away your own lessons. You'll be light years ahead of where this podcast tries to take you.

The uneducated giving their opinions

Too bad there wasn't someone on the podcast who took an American History class in school.

Amazing.

This show is amazing and everyone who hasn’t already should start listening now. Also I cannot wait for their books to be finished.

well researched

I have not noticed any errors in the podcast, glaring or otherwise. I wish the negative reviewer would cite examples or notify the podcast so they can retract anything that is actually wrong.

A refreshing breath of air

This podcast and the counterintuitive points of view here are well thought out, are authentically expressed, and Sarah and Mike seem like the kind of people you might want in your life.

It is well done, cogent, and particularly thought provoking.

Give it a try!

I really like their interaction, the thoroughness of research, humour, and insight. They are obviously two very bright people.

These two rock

I love this podcast. Deep dives on subjects we often accept as fact, but are actually very concerning and complicated.

Negative Reviews for this Show are Bogus

I love how the negative reviews for this show give zero examples of any inaccuracies in this podcast and simply level insults. The fact is that each episode is very well researched with numerous references to books and news articles, and in the rare instance that Mike and Sarah learn that something they said, even off-hand, was not accurate, they make corrections.

You're Wrong About is informative and entertaining.

Problematic

While this podcast is clearly well intended, it is not well executed. Whenever the phrases "I believe" or "I guess" are uttered, it is a sign that you either are making it up as you go along or that you do not genuinely remember what your sources say. If the intent is to educate, there is no room for conjecture. It became an impossible listen for topics with which I had collegial study. It is interesting to listen to cultural issues being discussed in terms of historical accuracy, but reporters should honestly leave these topics to genuine experts rather just giving a small amount of information filtered through opinion.
