Publisher's summary

Joe's body is failing him. In order to make his last weeks of life more palatable, he goes into full digital immersion. This new process will allow him to play in a virtual environment with a fake but healthy and strong virtual body. As soon as he steps into this new environment he meets his virtual assistant, an Evolving Intelligence (E.I.), who takes the form of someone close to him and goes by the name Spooky. After explaining how the game will function, she gives him his first items.

Before Joe and Spooky can begin playing the game, they are both summoned to a reality where magic is real. Due to the coincidental timing of this event, Joe believes this is all just part of the digital immersion. He is unaware that the summoning has healed his real body, making him now truly young and powerful. As he still believes that he's dying, he lives every moment to the fullest, unaware that he is now a near immortal. What will happen to his assistant, the E.I., once placed in this new reality? Will they survive their new environment or will the myriad of dangers swallow them up?

good premise, good exicution, good book

Interesting premise that let me think about the nature of experience and what I consider my reality. High point, the dialogue between all of the well developed characters. Low point, it ended too abruptly with several unresolved threads. Can't wait for the sequel to come out on audible.

Fun story

Fun story with clunky dialogue. Had some great litrpg elements but sometimes it feels like the dialogue is either written by a 14 year old or a bad translation, though the narration probably adds to the stiltedness of it. The world building is interesting.

Unique. Weird. Rough.

Perhaps it was just the style but the writing seemed awkward. The narrator sounds like he's reading a children's book. Interesting enough to finish but only just.

This is a great LITRPG.

I didn't think this one was going to be good but I was wrong. I really enjoyed myself in this read. The only thing that gave me pause was the game assistant fairy being a black woman and being named spooky....yah how was that missed during editing? He calls her spook a lot. The only thing I can think of is that this was translated to English and it isn't a term of racism in Russia. Other than that this book should not be passed. Also the cover art is kind of spooky.

Good but I was not hooked.

I struggled with this from the start. I did not make it much further once the name spooky stuck... sorry but I could not go through with it.

The lay out and story was something I was really interested in. Unfortunately I personally just could not work with that name being said constantly.

Middle of the road ok

The book took a long time to develop and when the characters speak it was too proper. So its hard to get a feel for the character itself. Everyone usually has some slang when they speak. That never comes across the pages so the MC just seems odd when he talks. Especially if he is from present or future our speaking vocabulary is so full of slang that it feels unnatural when you hear some one speak as if it was written on a page. Story was just ok. New concepts which i liked but execution was lacking

Nice spin on lit-rpg style.

I enjoyed the story, some parts could have been better but enjoyable experience nun the less. Book 2 out soon so more than likely 6 months to a year for next book on Audible to be released.
