Publisher's summary

Max Bennett was nine years old the first time he met Emilia. The two formed a tight friendship that lasted for years until she moved away. Now, years later, Max enjoys a successful career and loves his life, carefree and fun. He has everything he wants and does not intend to settle down anytime soon (even though his family might have other ideas). But when a chance encounter brings him face-to-face with Emilia, he starts questioning everything.

Emilia Campbell has a lot on her plate, taking care of her sick grandmother. After practically being left at the altar, Emilia has sworn off men...until the childhood friend she hero-worshiped and hasn't quite forgotten steps into her clinic. Max is every bit the troublemaker she remembers, only now he has a body to drool over. They are both determined not to cross the boundaries of friendship. But as their chemistry spirals out of control, can Emilia trust her childhood hero with the key to her heart and accept she might have found her one true love? Contains mature themes.

Great Story

Amelia and Max were perfect for each other. Their transition from friends to lovers was without over done drama, which I really enjoyed. Neither of the main characters was perfect and their flaws weren't game changers. More endearing than anything. Their happy ending was still exciting though.

Sweet

I love this story a lot.The narration was perfect and I didn't find myself getting bored.I enjoyed every minute and simply wish there were more.I haven't read a book before from Layla Hagen and I'm glad I did it now.

At first Emilia and Max were a little bit hesitant to start something romantic because they didn't want to ruin their friendship, but they realized that they couldn't stop feeling the attraction for each other.

Max is so sweet I loved him a lot.Emilia is determined and strong.I like them together they were perfect for each other.

I'm now more eager to listen the next book in the series!I would highly recommend the audio version of this one!

Addictive

Another fantastic addition to this addictive series.
Max and Emilia were childhood friends that re-connect as adults and they are explosive together. I really liked how the additional storyline of Emilia's grandmother was written, Alzheimer's is shown in a sensitive, yet honest light and shows the effects it has on both the person and the family. Layla Hagen never fails to impress me with her compassionate style of writing.

Sebastian York is just delicious as Max, he performs him perfectly.

This is the first audiobook I've listened to from Lidia Dornet and I really enjoyed it, at times I did have to pay closer attention to change of male to female characters as it wasn't always obvious but that just made me focus more, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Excellent but...

This was probably my favorite story yet. However, I would’ve liked to have heard it from Max since it’s his story not hers. I really enjoyed the male narrators voice, my weakness for deep voices 🤷🏽‍♀️. Loved this story though. ❤️❤️

Loved the story! Female narration needs work

I really loved the story. Lidia needs to improve her narration skills a lot though.

I always enjoy listening to Layla Hagen stories. Especially love how she has a series of books based upon the families. Gives me more insight to the individual characters. Now on to the next one..
