Stuff I already knew

First of all, if you are already on YouTube, then you probably won’t learn too much. This is more for those that have no idea of how YouTube channels work. If you already have a YouTube channel, then you will probably be bored of this.

Did not care for the narration. Was very impersonal and almost robotic. Good if you are having trouble sleeping. Also didn’t care for the reading out of urls, especially ones that’s are long.

Good overview

The book is very well written. It talks about the basics of YouTube marketing. The book is short (it is only 3.5 only hours) and very basic. The last chapter is a motivational chapter about the potential of earning passive income. Overall the book is good but understand that it is a basic overview of youtube marketing.

great book

I learned a lot of good detailed things to do to help build a following with social media. I wasn't sure how to differentiate strategies between Facebook and twitter, but this book really helped with that

This is just the book I have been looking for to

This is just the book I have been looking for to help my public health team develop a digital strategy on a shoestring. I recently just paid a lot of money to a contractor to give us a digital strategy, which left us with not a lot to concretely execute. Wish I had known of your books before spending way too much money on that!

a little too much beginner

this book is good for the beginner but to me it seems like it assumes The Listener is absolutely out of touch or a moron. I think this book is good if you are of an older generation that's not savvy about YouTube at all. but if you are generation x or younger, the content of this book is painful to listen to

Just Google it

Too much fluff and basic information that you can look up on Google. Doesn't go enough into strategic marketing. I'm starting to think most of these reviews for this book are fake, just like the so-called expertise of the author.

I have followed Sean and Video Influencers for a while now and this book sums up the best practices and things that you need to keep in mind while trying to build a successful Youtube channel.
These guys know what they are talking about and want to share the tips that will help anyone become successful on the platform.
Another great thing about this book and the Video Influencers themselves is that they practice what they preach and continue to provide current and relevant information. Evergreen if you will... This book is an excellent value and if growing a Youtube channel is something you want to do, you need to pick this up.

I just completed this amazing book, and wow! It is

I just completed this amazing book, and wow! It is so great, really! Sean and Benji give an in-depth look at the world of youtube and what it takes to succeed...they strip away the glamor that we see and tell us about the hard work, the sweat, the tears, and the long hours that turn into years of building your youtube channel and your influence. One quote from the book that stood out to me was "People underestimate the amount of work it takes. The allure of YouTube success is misleading. If you reach success, you can earn money, get free products, travel the world, and live an exciting, exhilarating life. However, that’s just what it looks like from the outside." For anyone thinking of starting a youtube channel, get this book...its a great investment in your future!

Start a channel, find a niche, and post consistently. This book brings no more added information than their videos do, and honestly, I would simply suggest skipping the book and only watch their videos on Youtube

I posted my first youtube video back in 2013 and got videos that ranked. After awhile I got overwhelmed and lost my focus. I discovered Video Influencers through Benji's wife, Judy, which then introduced me to Sean and his Thinkmedia channel. Between Sean and Benji they sparked that excitement to restart and rebrand my channel but with meaningful focus. I received this book earlier than expected and I'm only on chapter 2 but it already has post it's throughout. The book is nothing less than expected and I already feel the gears in my head thinking deep on the whys. For anyone that needs encouragement or fear of starting this book is for you.

I have a national radio show and my YouTube content has been mostly just posting the audio of my radio shows with a single still graphic (although one short documentary I did has more than 700,000 views). Yes, people do 'listen' to radio shows on YouTube, but most of my listens are from iTunes downloads. I finally decided that I was largely wasting the opportunity on YouTube by using it for such a narrow purpose. I began watching some of Sean and Benji's videos a couple of months ago and got motivated to start creating videos that made more sense for YouTube. I am already seeing a huge spike in views and subscribers (even with short videos). One thing that really jumped out at me in the book was the idea that you don't do SEO AFTER you create the video, you do SEO first (before you decide to do the video in the first place). I don't do a lot of Amazon book reviews, but wanted to get one up quickly on this book as I think it will help so many people. I think these guys have a heart for helping people and that really comes out in their new book and their YouTube videos.

For YouTubers who’ve been grinding hard for years

For YouTubers who’ve been grinding hard for years and think they know ‘the formula,’ there’s still some real gems in this book and it’s also very beneficial to be reminded of what you may already know works, but maybe aren’t actually doing (or doing anymore) because bad habits crept in or you’ve been stuck in a pattern and needed that little reminder to make some small changes that will make a big difference. Excellent book. These guys are the best in the industry.

While I’ve been on YouTube since 2006, it took me

While I’ve been on YouTube since 2006, it took me TEN YEARS to reach the one million subscribers milestone through countless hours of not just content creation, but also research, trial and error, and brainstorming with other YouTubers because in the early years there weren’t any strategists who knew what the best practices were, or who helped channels think outside the box and beyond just AdSense as a revenue source. But Sean and Benji have done their homework and if this book would have been available a few years ago, I’d probably have double the subscribers I have now.
