Publisher's summary

On the morning of her 25th birthday, Lily Harper opens the very last letter written to her by her beloved mother, who died when she was eight. Learning about the first and only real love of her mom's life is a revelation. The same momentous day, Lily meets Eddie Tessler, an actor fleeing fame who could change her world in unimaginable ways. But her childhood friend, Dan, has his own reasons for not wanting Lily to get too carried away by Eddie's attentions.

As secrets past and present begin to emerge, Lily's not sure what - or who - to believe. But one thing is clear: In the beautiful Cotswold village of Stanton Langley, nothing will ever be the same again....

Fabulous story, fabulous narrator

I bought both the print and audio version of this book..The narrator brought Jill Mansell's wonderful story completely to life. It was so well done that at times I stopped reading, just so I could savor the spoken words. Just a great story!

Love Jill Mansell, but this one isn't great

I've read (and/or listened to) nearly all of Jill Mansell's books and I love her style of writing. Her books always seems to fit a certain mood & are generally a lot of fun. This book, however, was really boring & overly predictable. There wasn't a lot of story-building or even laugh-out-loud moments. Disappointing.

Great story - narrator talked too fast

I love Jill Mansell's books! This was a fun story with a group of great characters.

I had to listen to it at .75 speed though cuz I thought the narrator raced through some of the story. Slowed down, it was perfect!

Recording

I had to slow down the recording. When listening the audio at times was fast and at other times even. By slowing it down some if the characters sound creepy mostly the men . I listen to many book this is the first time I have ever had an issue with a recording.

Like a comforting blanket

Like most of Jill Mansell’s books, You and Me, Always was another comfort listen to me. I enjoyed all the characters in this story, and Lily’s story was very relatable. Made commuting enjoyable!

Worth a 4. 5 overall

My first experience with Jill Mansell, You and Me, Always was fun, sweet, and incredibly convoluted. The author presents at least six different points of view, and my one complaint with the narration was with the name "Coral." I kept hearing "Carl," and thinking "Is this somebody new I'm not remembering?" But the story was interesting, the romances were worth waiting for, and I'll probably look for more of her books in the future.

Fun characters and story, excellent performance.

The story is fluffy and unassuming, but the characters are charming and believable, even if a bit simplified. They made the whole book worthwhile.

The performance was great, lively and fun, and the narrator brought all the characters to life.

I was surprised when other reviewers mentioned needing to slow down the playback. I listened to it at 1.75x speed and it felt just right.
