  • 735. The ever so charming and effervescent Gary Lezak figured out how to predict the weather.
    Apr 11 2026

The LRC (Lezak Recurring Cycle) was invented by well-known meteorologist Gary Lezak. It revolves around a proven theory that starting in early October, once the sun sets at the north pole and that area goes into darkness, a new "cycle" starts to develop.

How it works: Patterns begin to emerge each fall as the jet stream begins to move south, from its minimum in late summer. When this happens, a pattern begins to develop from the unique temperature differences in the Artic. Anchor troughs and anchor ridges develop and shape how the jet stream flows.

Gary's Global Predictor app is a, cloud-based tool powered by Weather 20/20's LRC model that provides long-range weather forecasts up to 6 months in advance for any location worldwide. Designed for planning weddings, travel, and events, it offers daily temperature highs/lows, rain/snow probabilities, and interactive map features.

  • 730. Serving exonerees with the only intention of just helping them get back into civilian life.
    Mar 29 2026

When Dylan Carnahan interviewed Marvin Cotton Jr., an exoneree little did he know it would lead to an interest in criminal justice, righting wrongs and the creation of an app aimed at helping those wrongfully imprisoned. It was that interview on Dylan's Carnahan's Simple Questions podcast, that Marvin explained he spent 20 years in prison for a murder he did not commit and the tough road that exonerees face when they are finally released from prison. That led to not only a friendship with Cotton, who is the founder of the Organization of Exonerees, but also a collaboration with Carnahan's brother, Alex Provenzano, a software engineer, to develop an app aimed at easing the transition from prison life to civilian life for those wrongly incarcerated.

Cotton was arrested, charged and received a life sentence in 2001 for first-degree murder—a crime he did not commit. When he was exonerated, he was released into a completely new world that he didn't know how to navigate.

Dylan and Marvin kept in touch for months after they recorded the episode, texting and calling each other frequently. As he and Cotton got closer, Carnahan came up with the APP idea.

Dylan explains, "When you hear Marvin's story and you hear the story of the other exonerees, it's a very compelling call to action," he says.

Other exonerees that they collaborated with are Kenneth Nixon, Eric Anderson, Anthony 'Ace Law' Legion, Darrell Siggers, and Leon Benson
