Critic Reviews

"To be motivated, you need something to be motivated about; obvious, maybe, but so true; this direct simplicity is the book’s greatest asset." (Kindred Spirit)

Good Information

What did you love best about Yes I Can!?

The information is very good, but it was an adjustment with the narrator's English accent. After a while it became easier but you can miss things because of it if not careful.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Imogen Church?

Maybe, depending on content.

What did you learn from Yes I Can! that you would use in your daily life?

Several good exercises to strengthen my positive visualizing ability.

Terrific book on self improvement.

Really enjoyed this book. In many ways it wasn't what I was expecting, but I'm really happy that was the case. Don't get me wrong, it is full to the brim of useful techniques that can be utilised in many life situations, but what impressed me the most was that much of this book was about self-improvement in general, and the kinds of things we can do to improve ourselves in the now, not just for the future. The narrator was a good choice as well, providing a soft voice that also really made you take each point on board without it coming across as arrogant as some books of this nature can easily become. A really good read, thoroughly recommend.

It’s ok but quite general

The book is not mind blowing, it offers some interesting exercises but with rather hollow promises of getting your life in order in case you follow it for some unspecified time frame. I finished the book just to tick it off but I wouldn’t recommend it to a scholar

The writer "Trumped" himself...

I was on board until... Not cause Donald Trump is mentioned coming up to 5min in. Its the example used of his numerous bankruptcies I take up an issue with. How he over came adversity... Go look at the various methods of bankruptcy, then look at the ones use by him. Then and only then will you see how he actually used and can afford the law to make money from bankruptcy. The narrator is excellent but I'm not buying this narrative, when I know factual flaws in its very content...

It’s just common sense stuff

Anyone could have written this book. It’s just a bunch of common sense like “you have to believe in yourself”, “listen to other people”, and other generalistic advice. Boring.

An ok book if you can get past the authors ableist views

As far as empowering self help books go this is ok. Some easy to follow activities to start you using affirmations to achieve what you want and learn to appreciate it when you achieve it. However, it was massively let down for me by the offensively small minded views the author has about ‘most’ autistic people and their inability to form speech or communicate beyond echoing back what they have just heard and I found my enjoyment of the second half of the book tainted by this.

Yes You Can

Great book, basically a book on visualisation but one which also cover self belief and offers practical tips in which to apply to your daily routine.

Very little to do with visualisation at all

I bought this because I specifically wanted an in depth book on visualisation. This was just a plain, basic self help book. Very little on visualisation at all. Misleading
